That's what I did.  Actually, I got better reception with the antenna on a 15 foot mast in my back yard than I do with it mounted higher in the attic.  The signals are patchy due to obstructions and reflections.

The lower Freqs and the new modulation they use does not like going through any obstructions which is prob why they do better outside than in the attic.

UHF doesn't like going thru obstructions. The higher the frequency, the more it acts like light. That's why directional antennas work better. Helps minimize reflected signals. Lower frequencies (VHF) have better penetration. I didn't think any of the TV stations were broadcasting on their legacy VHF channels. Not that I've been paying attention.

Update, I finally bought this model from Amazon, see below, and installed it yesterday.  A piece of cake!

Anyway, from where I live in the big V, that's Vonore if you don't know, I now have 19 channels, and crystal clear HD.  So goodbye Dish and $89 month.  I just gave myself $1,068 per year raise, that's $5,340 in 5 years.  That's a lot of money, or new found gun money :dirty: .  Anyway, this C2-V-CJM ClearStream 2-V Long Range UHF/VHF cost me $73.99 delivered from Amazon, less than 1 month payback.

To have your Direct or Dish TV bill reduced, have an agreement with three of best friends that you can trust.Buy subscription with four receivers, then buy three more dishes. You and your three friends each, take a reciever to their home and install. Split the bill four ways.
