Heads up for scams this season

I'm sure most of us have seen these before but just wanted to put the word out that we're starting to see lots more scams this year. The main one being where someone selling something on Craigslist and then getting a check in the mail for more than the asking price. The buyer then says that his guys will come pick up the merchandise and for the seller to just pay them out of the extra cash. Then the check bounces and the seller is left holding the negative balance without their merchandise. Another variant of this scam is the buyer saying he made a mistake and asks for you to send them the extra money back in either a wire transfer, money order, or certified check. In [b]every[/b] instance the check comes back bad and you are left holding the bag. Please use caution!

I will send you that information just as soon as we clear up the estate fees of your long lost uncle in Nigeria. He did left you lot of money we promis sir!

Yup, this is an old scam over paying and asking for a refund before the check clears.

I got to where I did all my transactions in cash, and at a credit union parking lot under camera. You get wierd looks when looking over guns, though.
