Nothing concrete will come of these petitions. However it might be a great way for the white house to see just how many people are not happy with them.
I think the count is up to 26 states that are doing some version of the same petition. Now just what kind of statement would it be if they all got the 25000 signatures . That is, by the way, the threshold for the white house to respond to the petition. Nothing else.
My point is simply that it would send a message if 26x25000 (650000) people showed their dissatisfaction.

That right was stripped from them as the price for them to be readmitted to the union after the war. It is no longer in effect.

If we did we could find ourselves in much worse state of affairs than we are now. If we seceded I can guarantee there would be no interstate commerce coming in or going out because we are no longer a state. Also, those states who don't secede will likely be pressured into boycotting anything related to Tennessee. Yes we can keep our taxes collected but the money does no good if we can't buy anything with it. The federal government would blockade the state and everything we would get would come in as part of the blackmarket, increasing costs to way more than what we pay now.

We better be careful what we ask for because we might get it. As glamorous as it sounds to secede from the union hundreds of thousands, if not millions, would be far worse off. We would starve and turn into a third world country in a matter of days.
