the only trouble i had was putting the scope back on where it came off. whoever took it off losened both screws to hold it to the mount instead of the one.it took me 6-8 dhots to get it linrd up to where i liked how it shot.

agreed NRA,
...i certainly don't like the idea of grinding away at the metal.
I don't understand why that article recommends it.

Have you zero'ed in the scope yet? I've got a sniper and the process of zeroing it in is a conundrum to me. Mostly because this popular sourcefor setting up the scope suggests shimming or grinding (!) the mount to get the reticle in line with the gun.
I've got the windage and elevation set at 50 yards with a laser and had to pop the cap and reset the windage dial... without grinding it down.. hope to practice shooting it in the next couple days.

Only issue with these guns is you need arms that are about a foot long to appreciate that tiny buttstock.

No I haven't shot it yet. Went to Norris saturday only to find it closed for deer season. I need to find another place to shoot.

Very nice Mosin sniper. For anyone wanting to convert a Mosin into a sniper version, Leapers.com.
has an interesting Tri Rail mount for the Mosin.

Have you thoroughly read the manual? It's a real treat.

I love shooting my Nagants. Problem is I can only get about 15 rounds down range before my shoulder starts hurting too bad too continue. Not fun when you have 880 rounds available and want to keep shooting. Here is my nephew shooting one of mine. Loud guns. When it gets towards dusk, that Bulgraian surplus makes a nice big fireball.
