If you like to buy guns without paper work, face to face, or at gun shows face to face, you better buy them NOW... We know what Obama wants, and here is a McCain video about "closing the loop holes..."

Its all pandering BS and the whores we keep electing know it.

Yeah so whats wrong with that? I have no issue with that whatsoever its not like you couldnt still do a transaction outside the show or meet FTF somewhere else.

Well considering that I had to submit to a tics/tax last weekend at the gun show,I really dont see the "loophole" so it doesn't really bother me either!

However its the give an inch, take a mile thing! If gun owners gracefully cave on this "loophole" then they will think its no big deal to remove our other 2nd admin rights!

Don't give up anything! The laws now, if enforced are more than enough for law abiding citizens. The criminals will never conform to the laws but it does interfere with the average, law abiding citizen.

actually McCain isnt that bad on gun control, when it matters he votes with gun owners. If Obama gets elected....gunowners are screwed and I'll sell the Hell out of guns till they dry up... and are gone.

These moronic politicianscans posture about with all their wonderful intentions, but actually being able to follow through is another story.

You must not forget, they are still in the 'Tell Them What They Want To Hear' mode. If they believe they can pull in a large segment of the voters while pandering the the anti-gun crowd, they will do it. Tomorrow they will attempt to pull us in while using some other BS tactics. It's all about attempting to make everyone happy enough to squeeze out one more vote.

Both candidates are at least somewhat anti-gun, but I think it's safe to say that McCain isn't nearly the gun hater as Obama. Even if they want to pass the law, that doesn't mean everyone else will follow.

I've already resigned myself to the fact that I'm not going to like our next president. However, it's important for us to realize that we're electing a president, not a king. Regardless of the views of the president, he is not empowered to pass laws- Congress has to do that. I realize, of course, that the POTUS can and will lean on Congress to do his bidding, but influence is the best he can manage.

I think that what we need to turn our focus to now are the Congressional elections this fall. Having a continued Democratic majority there is going to be far more damaging to our rights than anything the next POTUS can do.

Gutterboy i agree when you think about it the Prez has no real authority change has to come from the Congress and Senate. But then again SCOTUS like's to make law instead of interpreting it

My opinion is that the gun issues are not a priority at this point in time. Due to the high gas, high foreclosure rates, huge increase in unemployment that just came out, the weak dollar, etc, you know that "Recession" word that is being thrown around. The general public doesn't care as much about gun control. They have short memory, and what is happening "now" is what matters. Whoever gets elected will have to concentrate on this first and foremost, then the war, healthcare, then everything else and gun control is in the everything else group.

Depending on how the law was written, what you're describing could be construed as "conspiracy". Criminal conspiracy.

This only goes to show that McCain is as ignorant as any anti. Registering private sales is not going to have an impact on crime. Once again, it will simply be used as a type of firearms registration, and it will be an unnecessary burden borne only by the law-abiding.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I pray - to the Christian GOD everynight - that our grandchildren do not end up DAMNING this generation for our lack of morales and guts to do the right thing even though the doing the right thing may be tough.

You are exactly right. Gun control and abortion are safe issues to talk about while dodging the hard issues…

Jobs, the economy, taxes and health care.

I know that putting this county back to work and restoring our economy rests squarely on the shoulders of the American people; but I would like to know if any of these candidates have any ideas on how to help.

We can't give anything.Give them an inch and they will like it so much they will want a mile. And yes guns and abortion are great issues that most people have no real conception of at all. They believe what they hear, get real emotional and don't understand a flippin thing about it.

The economy, healthcare, energy are some dry boring stuff that all would require a lot of planning and money to get started and most people would be bored to tears.

I would imagine that the Guns and abortion would be hot this election cycle but I don't think Obama and Mccain differ enough to argue about it.

So I dunno what's going to happen. After January we are one school or mall shooting away from losing about every gun we consider dear. Best to brush the rust off the bolt action .22.

As I said in another post. I've sold all my guns, cash only, to a big black dude with a gold tooth down by the projects. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

And no, not going after The Rabbi's clientele.

Bottom line is buying guns should be a priority right now!

Obama doesn't care about guns. Really. If the issue comes along, he'll side with the antis. But it won't come up. He'll be way too busy with an economy in recession (he'll make it worse) and 2 wars (he'll make those worse too).

Man, ain't that the truth.

I'm coming down with BRD I think . . . I've already purchased a dozen 30-round mags and half a dozen 20-rounders over time. I think it's time for a couple of lowers.

All my pistols are single-stack or at least lower than 10-round capacity anyway, so I'm not worried on that point.
