Senator Dianne Feinstein Moves To Ban ALL Assault Rifles, High Capacity Magazines, and Pistol Grips

November 7th, 2012

Mac Slavo: The agenda no longer needs to be hidden from public view. With President Obama winning another term and democrats taking control of the Senate, the move to fundamentally change America from within has begun – with a vengeance.

We’re all aware of the restrictive gun laws in the State of California which require low capacity magazines for handguns, fixed magazines for “assault” rifles, and a whole lot of running around just to be granted the right to carry a concealed firearm.

Now, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), who has championed gun control in her state for decades and co-wrote the original assault weapons ban enacted by the federal government in the 1990′s, wishes to bring even more stringent federal mandates to the land of the free.
What is being proposed by Feinstein is the most significant attack on the second amendment in history.

It would essentially ban thousands of firearms and require gun owners to turn them over to the Federal government.
I don’t have the minutes of the meeting (yet), but sources tell me California Senator and longtime gun-hater Dianne Feinstein’s legal staff held meetings on Friday with FTB/ATF legal staff to discuss a new “Assault Weapons Ban” Madame Feinstein would be looking to push through Congress if President Obama wins reelection.

This same “pretty good intelligence” says the items that would lead to a ban would ban pistol grips and “high-capacity” magazines, eliminate any grandfathering and ban sales of “weapons in possession”.

I don’t know about you, but if these things come to pass and I’m “in possession” I’m certainly not selling.

In fact, the lack of interest in the idea surprised the California liberal’s legal staffers. Apparently, they believe no logical person could possible disagree with them.
…
I began receiving the first reports of increases in gun buying by people concerned about tomorrow’s election. Dealers in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Indiana all tell me there hasn’t been a huge number of buyers expressing those concerns, but the numbers were noticeable.

Among that group -and the majority of “regular” purchasers- the core driving most of the purchasing seem to be in their mid-to-late 30s. Again, home and personal defense are the most frequently cited reasons for buying.

At a Congressional budget meeting in September of this year, Feinstein alluded to her desire to reintroduce federal assault weapons ban regulations similar to those she helped cosponsor and pass in 1994 during the Presidency of Bill Clinton:
“Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to say, once again, in legislation, weapons of war do not belong on our streets…”
September 5, 2012
It it any wonder that shares of stocks like Smith & Wesson (NASDAQ:SWHC) and Ruger (NYSE:RGR) surged this morningin response to President Obama winning a second term? While the majority of stocks across the world are in the midst of a sell-off and economic conditions indicate the country is in a recession, America’s gun owners aren’t waiting to see what happens next.

Senator Feinstein is serious, and despite this most recent report appearing only as a rumor, her comments earlier this year and her actions two decades ago, should leave no question as to where this is headed.

They are coming for our guns; plain and simple.

The way John Boehner is sounding these days, I wouldn't doubt if he pushed for it in the House. Good ole GOP.
I hope he is removed from being the Speaker.

Otherwise, I doubt the House will go for it.

She's introduced some variation of this every single year since the old one expired. Every year it goes nowhere. This is not to say that we shouldn't be vigilant and make sure our reps (even the ones with a D next to their name) know how we feel, but I don't think it's a reason to start panicking just yet.

Blister. Hmmmmm. Haven't heard that used before.

Blisters need to get lanced or popped to heal.

I had to reach into the archives. She earned it.

She won't get the votes. The paranoia is good for the gun industry.

My only concern is the lack of a grandfather clause... sound this get passed it would cause a revolt.

Leave it to a libtard to believe that they can confiscate thousands of dollars of my private assets without a fight. "Revolt" is probably sugar coating it.

I wonder if the confiscation would affect her privately owned guns, she is after all a California CCW holder...

Somehow I doubt it, after all being a highly paid public servant her life is clearly more important than the lives of the people she's paid to represent.

The no grandfather clause IMO is there as a bargaining tool. By relaxing on that principal she can show an easy sign of "compromise" to help gun owners "get what they want" while she takes all that she can get.

She's a tool.

Tool?? Well, maybe. I did labor under the impression the Senator was female. I could be wrong. But I thought perhaps a different phrase more applicable to Ms. Feinstein.

I'm comfortable with my assessment. ;)

They wouldn't ban assault rifles....they'd tax the stuffin's out of you for having them. They do have the power to tax anything, thanks to Chief Justice Roberts.

I'm curious about how all this would work in a state like TN, where private party sales are legal, you don't have to follow the serial number around forever, etc.

What if you owned an 'assault rifle', and sold it in a private party sale?
People buy/ sell/ swap guns all day long.

You don't know the address or full legal name of the person it went to. As of now, you don't have to.
What then? What would/could they do? You dont have it.

What do you guys think?

Should they ever outlaw a specific type of weapon with no Grandfather clause, it wouldn’t be an issue of you having to explain where it went; no one would care. The issue would be when you are found to be in possession.

Many of us here have thousands of dollars (some more) in weapons that would be banned. I think the “No Grandfather” discussion is to try to scare everyone into thinking they may lose all the money they have in these guns and get them to accept something that allows them to keep their arms but bans future sales.

The states need to step-up. Tennessee passed the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act, but it hasn’t been tried yet. I don’t think the Feds or the SCOTUS wants to get into a “States Rights” pizzing match. It would be ironic that the very thing that rendered the 2nd amendment pretty much useless for the individual may help everyone keep their guns.

I think this is a "shiny object" designed to gather attention while they stick it to us in other places

Quite possibly.

I think a federal ban on all private sales is the most likely actual new gun legislation that will occur. Majority of FFLs would support it unless it made them do transfers for free.

I would think a Federal ban on private sales would be overturned by the SCOTUS if it happened. They left the door open for banning and outlawing stuff, but they made it pretty clear that ownership is a right. They left half the 2nd amendment intact as far as the individual is concerned.

No lawsuits arising from the states that don't permit private sales. Or perhaps more pointedly, District of Columbia.

Making you transfer a firearm through a FFL doesn't step on firearm ownership to any higher degree than the onerous hoops through which you must jump in DC and Chicago to simply own one.

I wish that old bitch would do us all a favor and jump off a bridge into an Alligator infested river. They won't take my guns without a fight. I really hope millions of my fellow Americans share the same sentiment. If the government ever resorts to actually disarming the citizens I have no desire to live in a world like that. I would rather go out on a blaze of glory as a patriot. Edited by Seabeejason
