Congrats on your new 45. I have been looking at them extensively, they look like really nice pistols. I'm going to try and find a rental soon.

I would only say the same because the shield currently offers flavors in 9 & 40. Once the XDs comes out in 9mm, I'll be all over it :)

True...but I really like having a 45. Call it silly or what not, but I love 45s
[/quote]

It ain't silly :) Everyone has their opinion .... I prefer 9mm, and am trying to collect everything in 9mm I can. From wheel guns, to AR's, to Micro's :) My only micro that isn't a 9mm, is my LCP which I will never get rid of. Its just too small :)

I just picked my XDs up this afternoon, two less rounds than my Kimber UC2 or my PM9 but it feels nice. I'll take it out in the back yard tomorrow morning after the kids have gone to school and put a few through it.

As some have said before, when the XDS comes out in 9mm I will give one a whirl. Until then I say the most sublime carry semi is graycrait's LC9 "special edition," with RTK trigger, Galloway Precision trigger bar and dual 15lb recoil spring, and has a handy thumb safety, but (ruger) stupidly only designed the safety for right handed use. The way they designed the safety ambi would have been easy.

That is sweet, the one thing I didn't like about my LC9 was the trigger, I wish I had held on to it long enough to try some of the aftermarket parts, mainly the trigger and stainless guide rod. I had the pinky extensions on my mags, made it slightly less concealable but more comfortable to shoot. I traded it for a G26 it is still my favorite, even with a 15 round G19 mag. Most importantly I can hit stuff with it.

Hope I can say the same for the XDs, waiting on daylight :)

I had the XDs and didn't like shooting it... to practice with just wears on you plus they should have extended to grip safety a tad bit further. Bought the Sig 938 extreme and havent looked back yet. When I purchased mine I loved the way it felt in my hands till I went shooting :)

I'm already an XD(m) fan ... The XDs is just an extension of the XDm IMO.

Can go wrong with either set up :)

Congrats! I love my XD's. I have a .45 service and a 9mm subcompact. I gripped the XDS at the gun show over the weekend and was really impressed with the feel. I'd love to own one.

Those sights look really nice. I need to get them in all three of my XDs

Just picked up an XDs.45 yesterday.  Fired around 50 rounds today to get the feel of it.  The grip needs a little work but overall I love it.  Need to get an IWB holster too.  This is actually my first Springer.  My brother has an XD9 and I love it.  All my other pistols are S&W M&P's.

Bought my XDs  three weeks ago, have 200 rounds through it without any issues, 100 of those rounds were my 200gr lswc light target reloads. This little 45 seems  to be able to feed any ammo. Recoil was a lot less than I expected and easy to control. Out to 30 ft, I could group within 4"  shooting fairly fast.

Small, easy to shoot, accurate, reliable, and a 45 cal. punch. It is my new IWB carry gun.
