Im a software developer at a small company here in Cookeville called Solutions IT Consulting. I have a MIS degree from Tennessee Tech that has turned out to be just about useless. :( Im looking to move onto something else in the near future, probably QA, BA, or DBA type stuff, writing code just doesnt do it for me, and this town just doesnt work for me.

The only reason I got to buy a bunch of toys in the past month was due to a huge return because of education expenses and only working half a year at a "real" job. :)

Actually, Tennessee Tech is pretty respected by companies looking for good people. But you are right that willingness to move, particularly in IT, makes a big difference in your quality of life.

Contact someone at Snelling Personnel Professional Division and tell them you are willing to relocate. They will slobber all over you! :)

Just don't change your mind about relocating. There is a saying in the placement industry about candidates going from winner, to whiner, to wiener.

I research records to determine property ownership and negotiate agreements with property owners to facilitate taking minerals from below the surface of the Earth and putting them in pipelines to go to market. Where they are purchased and ultimately end up in your home or business.

Music business for the last 30+ years. It's been a heck of a fun ride but I'm getting off this horse before long and do some serious hanging out. I have three grandkids to spoil. :(

I'd say that after 30 years in that industry, you've earned your right to kick back and hang out with the grandkids! :(

I'm a service tech for a local copier dealership. The last few years have taken me thankfully more into the IT side of it with all the digital multi-use break-when-you-have-to-have-it all-in-one monstrosities. I still turn too many screws for my likeing, but it's a nice living.

I have a variety of jobs. I work in the finance field, although, at the moment, I'm looking for a job.

I'm also a part time:

shooting instructor

trumpet player (I make more money at that than anything)

computer consultant (I sell parts more than anything else)

I can see where those could work together...

You must be really good... trumpet, in NASHVILLE, and you make money at it... that really is terrific!

Actually, I"m in Memphis. Luckily, Memphis is an odd town. We're supposed to be some sort of music town, but it's hard to find musicians here usually, so it's somewhat easy to find gigs.
