Building a 308 AR, what parts?

So guys, I've decided to build my first AR. I'm wanting to build a tack driving 308.

I need help with a parts list and any tools needed to do the job.

Right now I'm searching for a lower receiver that accepts pmags. So far, I don't like the DPMS much, Larue doesn't sale stripped lowers anymore, and ArmaLite is only selling their new AR10 lowers that accept pmags as complete assembled rifles.

So what other lowers are good that accept pmags?

Kinda hard to say, Im building one also but Im going DPMS the whole way. If you dont like DPMS I wouldnt know where to advise you to go. Surplus ammo and arms has the Oracle 308 flattop upper for 599.00 with free shipping. They also sell the lower receiver parts kit for 69.99 with shipping. About 80.00 to your door. I ordered a lr 308 lower receiver from DPMS and they emailed saying 4 to 6 months before they would ship.so I bought a lower receiver from element arms on G/Broker for 250.00 10.00 shipping, no cc fee. All I lack now is assembly. There is a website 308.com that walks you step by step through the 308 receiver assembly. Good Luck on your build, Jack

Cmmg makes a decent lower that is on the DPMS pattern. Shop around for your upper, I just picked up a Dpms lr308b upper with full flutes and an a3 upper for $640 from Nelson tactical. Is an absolute tack driver.

Dont think you will save money by building yourself, at least on a .308 platform.
