They are all over voting sites in Shelby County. I figure it is a Memphis thing because there is no state law against carrying a gun when voting.

yes, I did early voting and it was at Town Hall (in Farragut, TN--township in Knoxville). Gun buster sign in addition to verbage about TN 39-17-1351

I believe it is a law in TN - no weapons on polling site premises.

Lots of folks here have said they can carry at their polling sites.

As for me, my polling site is an elementary school, so carry is a no-go. Election commission is posted too, so I couldn't carry at early voting either.

Yeah i kind of figure it is some local government garbage that causes this.

I looked, but saw no sign when I voted early at the South Knox location. Don't know about the regular voting place. It's a community center, so it's probably posted. Don't remember.

Nope. Just urban carry legend, like banks.

My early voting place out in shopping center, not posted.

My actual precinct is a high school.

Saw no signs when I voted early at the Belle Meade City Hall, but left it in the truck anyway. I'm sure there was another ordinance that covered it... but damned if I know. Just being safe was better than dealing with anyone on the Belle Meade police department.

Carry is legal as long as you're not voting at a school and the facility isn't otherwise a prohibited place.

I carried while voting today.

Elementary School..........I voted........I'm sure it was posted....I'm sure I didn't pay attention if it was as I was there with tons of other people, some looking like bums, others looking like thugs......Everyone should carry when around people like that.....never know who's thinkin' evil thoughts.

The Golf Club Lane poll in Clarksville did not have any signs to that effect.

Mine was posted, Oasis Church in South Nashville. They had a "No WEAPONS" sign, with the circle slash over a gun and a knife. I guess that covered all of the bases.

I had to vote at The TN School for the Blind, so I left my carry piece at home yesterday.

I guess it is then a Memphis thing that all the polling places in Shelby County try to have somewhat legal 'no guns' signs.

My place of voting was not posted but it is a very rural community center. I could have likely OCed and an eye would not have been blinked. I went with my wife to vote (We just got married and have not yet combined households) and we were having a conversation to which we could not agree on an answer. I did a little fishing here today but could not find an answer. Say she is going to vote and she leaves her weapon locked in her car, is that legal since the car is parked on school grounds?

Non-student adult may stash firearm in vehicle on school grounds. Though not specified, intent of statute is almost certainly unloaded though, as is in non intent to go armed context.

I early voted in Lebanon, was not sure so I left mine in the truck. I didnt see any signs, but as I was getting back in my truck, I saw a man coming out of there open carrying. It was at a church across from the old courthouse.

I was a poll watcher Tuesday and never saw any signs in the S. Nashville locations where I was but 2 were schools. Those headlines would look great, "Poll watcher caught with gun on school property".
Not me. I left it at home!
