Remember, that regardless of who you plan to vote for today, American soldiers have bled and died to give you that privilege. Don't take it for granted. There are billions of people in this world who don't get to participate in a grand experiment like this one we call America.

Get out there and make your voice heard!

Election day is just as important to me as independence day. I know a lot of people my age(24) don't put a lot of emphasis on it. But today is a day that separates us from so many other countries. It's not a perfect system but on my opinion it's about as close to perfect as it gets.

It is time to step up and be a Citizen and not just a resident! If you do not do your duty and vote you are no more than a resident. When you do vote you are exercising your rights in our great republic and you are taking an active part in the governance of our nation. Men like this fine young man have pledged their very lives to protect that right for you . The least we can do is use that right!

I hope they get that squared away and get them counted. I'd love to think it's a conspiracy, but I think it's unfortunately simply incompetence combined with indifference.

If voting by e-mail or fax works for New Jersey residents because of Hurricane Sandy, why wouldn't it work for our military? At least the ones who have Internet access..

Just got back from the booth - 20min in/out, so not too bad.

Because if it's set up in a hurry it's almost guaranteed to be FUBAR'd in some way, security or verification wise.

My wife received her US citizenship a few months ago and today was able to vote for the first time here in the US. She said that everyone clapped when she cast her ballot.

Voted early. As others have posted, exercising your right to vote is what separates the citizens from the subjects.
