Need advice on a good IWB holster.

I need advice on a good IWB holster for the Colt New Agent I just purchased. My normal method of carry is a skeleton belt slide holster with an untucked shirt. I've never carried IWB so I need reviews of the holsters others have used and why they use them. Every company says they have the best and most comfortable but I trust you guys more. As always, thanks in advance. Edited by Mykltn

Ill go ahead and say crossbreed supertuck. There will be more in here shortly to back me up on that. They are a little pricey and take a few weeks to get in (made to order). But its by far the most comfortable iwb holster ive ever used. I carry my ruger sr9c in one. Edited by reed1285

I liked my Supertuck but I liked my Kholster better. I adventually grew into my 38" pants that I bought just for IWB. When I wear 40" and especially when I tuck in a shirt it looks like I'm carrying two guns tucked in. I just don't do IWB any more but if I loose about 4" in my waist I may.

Crossbreed are ok but they are NOT the cream of the crop....IMO

There are others that are just as good....better if you consider the fact that most carry lower price tags,

Look into Galco King Tuks....I really liked mine and have heard the same from others,
Comp-Tac.....Kholster....there is a big list.

I would maybe ask around your circle and see what others are carrying and see if they have one or two you can take for a spin. I would recommend testing for a day or so (if possible) to really get a feel for it.

P.S. if you do go with Crossbreed...save you some money and get a Crossbreed seconds (google for address) they are the same holster just returns (since they have a 30 day return policy) or slightly defected. I ordered mine for 40.....in good shape....horse hide...saved about $45-$50 that way

I would get a leather holster.

Here is a great one from a great holster maker in-stock ready to ship. You used to have to wait 20 weeks for his holsters but he quit custom orders for a short time and built a bunch of items ahead that he now keeps in stock.

I could have easily went with other brands, nothing against those, I understand this group may have started these type IWB holsters, and has many great reviews. What pushed me over the edge, when I saw the crosses and the founder's testimony, I had to have it. I think its quite honorable to state your Christian testimony on any commerical product, and be successful. Rest in peace Mark Craighead, thank you for your product. I also have a crossbreed supertuck and like it. I don't think the kydex wears a gun's finish more or less than a comparable leather holster. With either type, it's important to keep the holster clean. Embedded dirt and grit is what does the damage. Mine had the dreaded squeak, but after a few tries I fixed it with some felt behind the belt clips.

That said, if I were buying a new holster today, I'd get one that's convertible IWB/OWB.

I had one that did the same thing, and I moly coated the back of the clips and it seems to have taken care of the issue.

I have used Milt Sparks, Comp-tacs, Phantoms, Crossbreeds. If you don't want to wait all too long and kinda want a middle ground to the holsters then I'll agree with the Crossbreed, but they are a hybrid. They are almost as comfortable as leather and conceal almost as well as kydex.

I have just switched to good kydex. Allows me to carry a little more gun.
Raven Concealment followed by JM Custom Kydex are my favorites. If doing leather I like TT gun leather, but all my new carry guns will use kydex.

I got an Old Faithful holster kit that is a kydex hybrid. They are offered as kits or completely assembled. I did a Stage 2 kit and saved about half the price of a completed holster. IMO it is better quality than a Kholster that I also own.

Thank you for posting this!
Price is great and they have several options for my EDC. They even have some nifty color options.

I consider Tommy a friend of mine. He is a great guy and noone provides better customer service. I have talked to him on several occasions and we keep in touch on Facebook quite a bit. I have bought many of his holsters for myself and friends. Have never seen one of them disappointed yet. Just ordered two more a couple days ago.

+1 from me. Tried a couple different holsters for my Jericho, and the Theis holster was perfect. The Jericho is a bit big for EDC, but with that holster, I barely notice that it's on my hip.
