What do you mean not lining up? Is it a suppressor mount or just the flash hider? Edited by Mike

Here's one installed by the factory at AAC. Does it look different than this:

It's the suppressor mount, the 3 "prongs" don't seem to look right, meaning I can't like them up looking symmetrical with the barrel
[/quote]

The mount is off center? Or the prongs just don't time up like you think they should.

Yea I'm pretty pissed because apparently this was installed with a crescent wrench, and it doesn't look nice like yours

Notice anything?

Ohh someone crushed it huh? Yeah that sucks. The prongs being pushed in would piss me off too.

It's not noticeable in the side profile pics, but it looks bad from the front. Edited by Caster

Hard to tell in the pictures, it looks like the wrench flats are boogered up but the prongs look fine.

That's what I think, but the prongs are not in the same position as yours, looks like that one prong is at 11oclock instead of 12, as opposed to yours look lol 2, 6, and 10

Do you think it was torqued too tight? Or if I can take if off and thread it in there a different way it will look different. I realize I'm being nitpicky but I want it on there right before I pin it

You sure you've got a real one? There's enough premium on them that we've seen grey market ones out there.

Mike is right. They don't have to be clocked in any certain position, but the closer I look, yours does look like it might be machined a bit weird.

Right. If there's no backing nut or crush washer, it's gonna clock where it wants to.

Yeah the fact that the rock set is empty is telling enough, that this is a returned item.

I've had rocksett tubes direct from AAC show up already hardened. They don't have a good shelf life.

If it was installed with a crescent wrench it looks it just slipped while torquing. It doesn't look pretty but it should work just fine. Edited by Mike

Yeah, I could buy "set up" but he said empty, that's why I thought it was suspicious.

OP you mention "it was installed". Who installed this?

Not a professional that's for sure! Local guy with some ARs. Might just send it to adco, has anyone had experience with the smith at On Target in Murfreesboro?

Hahaha, tried to save money by going to a local guy huh? Like I said earlier in your other thread, been there - done that and regretted it. Kinda like what you're doing now. Please, learn from my experience and send it off to the people who do this sort of thing every day. It usually costs less in the long run when you figure in the heartache.

Weapons Outfitters in WA is 100% good to go. Roy will not and does not screw his customers. If he says it is new, then it is new. AAC is known for skipping things sometimes. I, just this morning, dealt with their CS about something that we've been going back and forth for the past two weeks about. I am less than pleased and won't be ordering direct from them ever again.
