I agree. And to be honest, its hard to say exactly whats going on up there at the moment. When guns were taken during Katrina, nobody knew about it until after the fact. The large media outlets never even reported it, but rather ignored it, as well as other problems.

But I respect those up there doing what they can, until like you said, they give us a reason to think otherwise.

They will have my respect until they give be reason to “believe” they have done something wrong. Alex Jones and his band of dirt bags are already giving the tin foil hats a reason to “think” otherwise. First responders get the benefit of the doubt; not hacks that are doing everything they can to undermine this country.

Its all good Dave. While I like Alex, I dont take everything that comes out of his mouth as truth, but more as speculation, unlike many people that do. I like his stance on a lot of issues facing our nation, but not everything is a conspiracy.

And thinking now days is something that not many people know how to do anymore for themsleves, but instead let the large media outlets do it for them. Its not hard to see that.

I read this article this morning.

Maybe this clears up the story about the Utility Crews.

Well I certainly agree with that.

It's a conspiracy, maaaaaaaaan!

Never fear...MSNBC and Fox News will be along shortly to tell you what your opinion of this siuation is.

If there was something that is obvious and news worthy, then Fox would report it. But certainly not MSNBC or any other liberal mainstream media news source.

You mean the folks that have never been to a hurricane? It's hard to get a good feel by watching TV.
Nope, I meant the small groups of people start acting out on their own because they think the world is ending due to what they see around them.

Kinda hard to do that with the National Guard deployed. :)

Now only if they were allowed to go in with more than an MRE and flashlight, everything would be all fine and dandy

No kidding, I was told a story of a squad leader who made a private fix bayonet and go into a building after a looter because they weren't allowed to lock and load.

Thanks to the Victoria secrets crew and staff. They went above and beyond the duty of civilians to help. I’m sure they will get some kind of commendation for their actions.
Also, thanks to all the National Guardsmen and Military personnel that are saving people lives and helping to restore order.

Bloomberg should keep his butt in a chair keeping on the phone trying to get supplies to the affected area.
Cuomo should try to do something constructive instead of saying things will be alright. FEMA will never get
praise from me knowing they had almost a week to coordinate for this event, and it looks like they failed.

I had a Suburban and a Silverado ready to be loaded with water and supplies to go to New Orleans after Katrina. FEMA got on TV and told us to “stand down” and not go. They said we wouldn’t be able to get there and it would cause problems; they had it under control. They were wrong and people died because of it.

FEMA is clueless; they need to stay out of the way and let the first responders handle it. They can haul some shacks in there later and get their time in the limelight. Edited by DaveTN

We got major issues all the way around, and have for years. After your incident with Katrina, you would think that something would've been fixed by now, yet:

http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dailypolitics/2012/11/cuomo-order-makes-it-easier-for-water-to-reach-needy-new-yorkers

First sentence from that story is
Gov. Cuomo issued an executive order making it easier for companies to donate drinking water to New Yorkers still struggling with the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
Why was this even necessary? We've over-regulated ourselves to the point where we cannot even think without submitting a request form and having it reviewed by a panel.

Where is the FEMA is a failure for it's sandy response coming from? What do you perceive FEMA's role in this to be?
As Rudy G. paints it, main failure was total failure to prepare ahead of time. No staging of essential disaster supplies anywhere along the NE coast. The first FEMA water is only now getting to Staten Island, for example.

It's not like Sandy was a surprise out of the blue.

That link looks more like FEMA and the administration is patting itself on the back more than doing their
job. But you can keep believing it. :D Their role is to to respond to disasters, Daniel, unless someone
changed it. They had about a week to prepare and ready for this storm, which they didn't fare as well as
that CNN piece said. There are things FEMA could have prepared better.
