Good thing this Barney Fife wasn't showing off with his pistol and one bullet.

Webb reportedly asked a group of students who would like to clean his patrol unit. While a group of boys said they would, the victim--identified as “R.D.” by his lawyers--“jokingly said that he did not want to clean the patrol unit,” according to a Santa Fe District Court lawsuit.
In response, Webb allegedly pointed his taser at the boy and said, “Let me show you what happens to people who do not listen to the police.” The 44-year-old cop then fired his Taser X26 model.

Webb recalled first escorting the boy to a school bathroom “to help clean him up.” When a teacher approached them in the bathroom and asked what happened,

An idiot with a badge. Yeah, I hope he gets fired. There is no excuse for such a lapse in judgement if an accident. If this was on purpose he needs to do time for it.

Reminds me of a sign I saw for sale at the gun show yesterday...was a sign graphic of a couple cops beating and kicking a person, and the print said : Police: Serving and protecting the #### out of you. Or something similar...was funny.

Glad it was just his taser and not his sidearm... The dumbas$ should be fired and taken to the cleaners in a court of law. I usually try to give LEO the benefit of the doubt but this is nothing other than gross negligence at it worst with no possible excuse.

Hopefully his department condemns his actions and supports the suit.

From the article:
...an accident that resulted in the officer’s brief suspension...
Brief suspension?! What?! It should be, "...resulted in the officer being fired and being disqualified from ever working in law enforcement, again..."

The idiot was supposed to be demonstrating gun and taser safety, for freak's sake. Edited by JAB

I didn't read anything about any safety demonstration period, from what I read he had no reason to pull the taser in the first place.

I agree, this should immediately disqualify him from any position in the LE community. If it were my child I would be beyond livid and would not even consider taking a settlement check until after it had been proven to me that this buffoon no longer had any hope of being in a position to make such a critical error again.

Wonder what kind of suspension you would get if you Tased the cop. Probably not so brief I am thinking!
