Glock 21 Difficult to Field Strip (it could be me)

Recommended Posts

All right, I give up, and need some help. I recently acquired my 3rd Glock, a 21 Gen 2 earlier this week, and simply stated, I cannot for the life of me, disassemble this gun like my other Glocks in a quick pain free manner. I have had a 17 for close to 20 years, and I have a 22 (all gen 2s). Anyway, I am no novice to field stripping Glocks, but this is my first 21. I have no trouble with my other Gs. Is the recoil spring that much stiffer and that is my problem? Do I have a QC concern? Or am I just a wimp, too accustomed to the Sigs. Any suggestions. It appears to be 100% OEM. I have been able to disassemble it, after 10 minutes of a struggle, and my finger and thumb hurts afterwards! Please help.

I'd say you're just used to a worn recoil spring. I had a G22 that was almost impossible to hold the slide back while pulling the take down levers. I had a G20 with some miles on it and a little kid could do it(theoretically)

I just traded into a G29(baby glock) and its pretty stiff spring as well. Shoot a 1000 rounds and see if it changes
