I went this morning and stayed in the stand till 10:30 and didn't see crap. I usually stay longer but, its hard to do when nothings moving.

I managed to come home with a 6 pt after sitting in the stand for less than an hour. It looked to be an 8 pt until i got right upon it. Oh well, he'll eat just the same. That's the shortest I've ever sat in the stand.

I managed to shave chest hair off of a fat doe at 40yds at 8:45. Luckily she had company in the form of a button buck. He caught a ball through the shoulders at 86 paces. Go figure! I always miss the easy ones!

I seen 2 does and my little 5 pointer. He got a free pass this time.

I don't much give free passes (spotted deer excluded) until meat is in the freezer!

I'm with you DaveS, I don't give many free passes. I'm more picky during early bow season, but after that I don't let too many walk. I do try to let the bucks grow, but I also gotta have meat in my freezer.

I'm sure there's some more people on here that got some deer. C'mon guys post your deer pics!

I passed on a small 8 pointer Saturday @ 9am. Didn't see any deer before that. Saw a few does later, but wasn't looking for a doe. Sitting in the stand now... Got a good buck in the area, so probably won't shoot anything except a big one this week.

Dave I usually don't. Went out this morning seen several deer, does and a few of my smaller bucks. Had 2 coyotes come in and everything left but this small 7 pointer stayed to long. I dropped him trotting off at around 100 yards. I decided I needed some meat in the freezer. I have 2 buck tags left so I will patiently wait for those big bucks I have on my trail cams. This 7 pointer was on my trail cam guess I can cross him off now.

There were deer all over the place saturday, took home 2 nice does. 1 at 30 yards and the other a left handed shot at 20 yards. The deer at 30 yards was a deer I missed tuesday with my bow, cut a chunk of hair off of her belly with an arrow, but she wasn't so lucky yesterday. I did find something out, they must have started making semiauto muzzle loaders, that or someone in the woods can reload in just under 2 seconds

My oldest son and I hunted yesterday morning and this morning. We saw several, but nothing worth taking. My father showed up yesterday with a giant 6 point buck. It had heavy beams, a good spread, long tines and all; just 6 points. It field dressed 165! He said he'd like sausage made from it, so I spent yesterday afternoon and this afternoon working on it for him. Maybe we'll shoot some for jerky next weekend.

I don't think that is a new invention. It seems I hear those semi-auto muzzle loaders almost every year.

Here's a couple of quick snaps I took on Saturday morning. No kill pic for me I'm afraid......

And a third photo a good friend of mine sent me this morning. The gun in the picture is an English Sporting Rifle I built out of factory spares I had kicking around & took him last week, the knife is also one that I built him in trade for an Osage longbow he built me. I doubt I could be happier if I'd shot this 8 myself!.....

I passed on does again Sunday. I just can't shoot'em knowing the big boy is so very close. If I hadn't seen him in the area during the juvi hunt, I might feel differently. He had a new rub waiting for me Sunday.

Congrats to all those that did score.

Just a thought; My dad and I routinely hunt together from the same stand. It is not uncommon for two guns to be on a animal from the same tree. If I miss, he won't.

and - double bbl muzzle loaders are available - http://www.chuckhawks.com/traditions_express_article.htm
