This sort of thing is worth the shipping/cost of having it done right. Don't let a local shop ruin it. I tried to go cheap/local on a Colt 14.5 upper back in 08 and was severely disappointed. Marvin Pitts (Nefarious Arms) or ADCO.

It's just a little spot weld and a pin a competent gunsmith should be hard to find.

I thought so too.....until it took a month and a half to get my stuff back and it looked mangled. My guy decided he wanted to reinterpret the rules and spot welded it in four places too. They also gave me a lot of trouble over a F/A BCG. You may find a local guy who is capable and competent. But you have just as good a chance, if not more so, not to.

SF and AAC muzzle devices are tough to pin correctly. YMMV. Good luck in your choice

Yeah. Paying shipping sucks, but I sent my upper and Battlecomp to ADCO and they did what they were suppose to and it was only gone about a week and a half. A lot of which is my fault because the upper got to them on a Friday or a Saturday.
