Mags or Ammo

I'm just about to order a Waffen Werks AK74 from Atlantic Arms and I hae a small problem. My budget will allow for either the rifle and a 1080 rd can of surplus ammo, or the rifle and six Circle 10 mags. Given the pending election, I feel like the mags would be the smarter buy, I can get ammo in a couple weeks and I would be good to go.However it seems kinda goofy having a new rifle and nothing to feed it. Thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

Get the mags. Those things have been very hard to come but at times. Get them now. Ammo well always be there.

We're not anywhere close to a mag ban. Get some of both. You need to shoot that sucker.

EDIT: Didn't know they were scarce. I bought a bunch of mags for an AR last week. Great price and plenty of them.

Well, I dropped the hammer on the gun and mags, hopefully Maryland wasn't hit by the storm and I'll be cleaning a new Ak74 while I watch the election results.
