Tried to early vote a few times to send the renters back to Chicago but the lines were too long and I could not wait it out as I had my 9 month old son with me. I may just wait until election day.

I voted, got the sticker and on Election Day I'll be working a few S. Nashville precincts as a Poll Watcher.

Go to Ophelia Ford's district in Memphis, and they will give you a second, third, and maybe even a fourth chance to cast your ballot. Forms of ID accepted include death certificates (you get to vote twice if the services were held at NJ Ford Funeral Home). It won't really change your choices on the ballot, but will give a couple more opportunities to complain that you were disenfranchised.

I'm a Florida citizen. I voted by mail so I could avoid the 1000's of obnoxious New York transplants and such.

After being in Florida for 5 years, while tailgating after a NASCAR race at Homestead a local came upon our tailgate. He saw the State of Florida flag I was flying off my truck and asked if I was native to Florida. I laughed and admitted I was a transplant. He asked me for a beer and I gave him one.

he went on to tell me how his people had been in Florida for well over 150 years.

He then took the beer and shook it a little spraying some of it in the air. Said he absolved me of all the sins of the Yankees and made me a naturalized Floridian. I swear some people near us had been listening and started clapping, LMAO,

While this has nothing to do with this thread, I ask, have you been Naturalized?

That's a great question actually. I don't have any idea how I got the absentee ballot. I vaguely remember it being mentioned when I registered to vote but I didn't consciously apply for the absentee ballot. All I know is that the ballot has come to my address twice now for 2 different elections so I guess anyone can request it.

Again, I have no idea how I signed up for one but I'm glad I did.

I am currently working in AZ so my wife and I made arrangements to vote by mail before coming here.

I know it's a matter of choosing the least offensive option but I'm glad my wife agreed with me.

My wife and my daughter as well as myself voted on the 17th. I was my daughters first time voting for Pres. She really gets the importance ans significance of voting.I am very proud of her.

Yep, my wife and I did the early voting route this year.

One of my pet peeves is people who go vote uninformed. If you just vote for someone because you recognize the name or because they have a certain letter next to their name, you should exclude yourself from voting, Every election I print out a sample ballot and research every single candidate. My wife usually takes my word for who is the best selection (we are of the same mindset anyway)...

X2. This is the same way me and my wife do it. So I guess you can say I get to vote twice? I print up 2 sample ballots, one for me and one for her. And normally ending up giving one of them to her mother also....

I've never missed a general election since turning 18, even when I was deployed oversees...I think I've missed no more than two primary elections and only because there simply wasn't anything I felt I needed to vote on.

I voted for Romney last week and did so happily and I did not feel as if I was doing so only because there wasn't a better choice. I've no illusions about Romney being a perfect president but he may well be the perfect man we need as president for this particular moment in time...Romney may well be exactly the type of person the country needs to at least start to put the brakes on the out of control socialist government we've been heading into for far too long.

I've been watching the crowds (size and enthusiasm) Romney is generating at his public appearances - I think the thought that most people are voting for him only because there isn't a better option is a bit misguided and perhaps based more on their personal feelings rather then what is actually happening "out there".

Yea they didn't give me a sticker where I voted.

All I got was some lip from the old lady when I gave her my HCL as my photo ID. Something along the lines of "mumble mumble don't need no damn gun, mumble"

I voted yesterday afternoon in Brentwood. There was more of a line than I was expecting, but it took only about 40 minutes. Used my HCP for my photo ID, and the lady started complaining about the fact that the information is arranged differently than it is on the DL. LOL... Wut?

I politely refused the sticker.

i have voted. i have not missed voting since the early 70's. even when i lived overseas i voted. everybody should vote and there is no reason not to.

She thanked me for doing it every year.

Ditto. And the same should apply to our legislators. If they don't know what's in a bill, how can they decide how their constituents' want them to vote?
