With all the cosmetic surgery being performed in the US I wonder how long it will be before a similar suit will be filed here?

I guess her personality had nothing to do with why they got married.

Thank you, Dolomite. What ever happened to marring for love of the person & not love of their looks. Ok so you may be attracted to a person, at first, because of looks but I would hope that there would be more than looks to actually marry the person.

Marrying for love is a relatively new practice. It was never a widely accepted concept. For centuries people married for mutual benefit or for the benefit of their respective families.

It was, and still is, a contract between two people in the eyes of the law. Just like a divorce is a contract. Both require the governement to approve it for it to be a legally binding contract.

Come to think of it, how far reaching have we allowed the government to get when they can approve and disapprove who you marry? Seems like it should be none of their business but that is just me.

I have been ugly all my life. When I was 16 years old I could go into a liquor store and by booze, not because I looked 21 but because the clerk didn't want to see a the picture on my drivers license. "Are you 21?" he asked. "You want to see my ID?" "NO NO! I'll take yer word for it..." ;)

Glad this is not common in Tennessee. My wife would win a windfall for sure if she sued me, and the jury would award her both actual damages and punitive damages. Gosh, I would have to file bankruptcy and probably learn spanish, because I would have live in Mexico, maybe a mobile home on the beach south of the border like that episode I saw on NCIS where Mike Franks lived with a seniorita in retirement.

Ha. That's funny. Franks was definitely on the ugly side.

Castor, you're right about marriage not being for love for centuries. So, I guess he considered her looks as an asset. I was just hoping that had evolved lol.

Dolomite, uh, yup. It's a legal contract, sadly. Haven't there been instances (other than the whole gay marriage thing) where the government has denied a marriage license? Didn't people used to have to take blood tests? They're too involved in our personal lives for my liking. Like you said, it's none of their business.

Still, I don't see how he could win. That baby is half him too...wonder what his family looks like. Maybe he's got a few "ugly genes" running around...

Sent from iPad in the woods.

are they not only allowed one child in China? Oh well better luck next time

I'm confused on whether this took place in China or the UK. Either way, this "father" needs to suck start an AK. Anyone that would call their own child ugly and take such issue with it is not meeting the minimum requirements to be a loving parent.
