Anyone watching? Pretty good game last night. The Giants pitching is just dominant, four runs given up in the last five games. But Doug Fister of the Tigers is my new hero. He takes a line drive off the head, and it looked absolutely frightening, but he stays in the game and retires 12 in a row after that, ends up pitching six innings of one-run ball. It looked awful when he was hit, but I guess it wasn't that bad. Hope he doesn't suffer any after effects. On the mound the trainer was asking him, "What city are you in?," "What game is it?"

Tim McCarver needs to just go away. He said pitchers should wear helmets now, like the batters. If you're going to do that, might as well not even call it baseball. They've already emasculated the game enough, with pitchers not being allowed to throw inside anymore. I understand safety, but at some point you have to say enough is enough. There's a certain risk you just have to accept. If you don't like it, don't play the game.

So is anyone watching? Anyone care? I still think Detroit can get back in this series.

I'm a braves fan but got on the Detroit band wagon because of Fister I watched him a couple of times earlier in the season and thought he was bada**.

I didn't get to see him get hit last nite. I hope the tigers come back to win or at least make it a good series

I'm from MI so I'm for Detroit all the way. Always have been. It's about time they've put a decent team together. And for future reference: Go Blue! Wolverines Fanatic! Love those Lions! Red Wings, Red Wings, Red Wings!!!! Not so into basketball, but if I had to Pistons!

I've been in Detroit many times during the NHL playoffs when the Red Wings were dominant. That was my only experience seeing a hometown so energized by their team. Every business contact I met with just wanted to talk about the Red Wings.

My 80 year old grandma jumps around watching the Red Wings. And don't bother her while they're playing unless you want a grandma cursing. My daughter's first memory of Grams was during a game & she still laughs about it. Yeah the Red Wings actually bring people together up there. And Detroit needs it. I hope a win for the Tigers will help morale up there too.
