From one state resident to another resident of the same state.

Do you need to go through a FFL?

My thinking it is OK, same as a face to face,

but I have been wrong before and will be again.

Perfectly legal under both federal and TN law.

Letter of federal law though, is that you are supposed to notify carrier for any firearm NOT going to a license holder, which means probs at FedEx (who just won't do it) or UPS (which are supposed to do it, but probably won't). Both their TOS's require notification, too.

You can send it through USPS, since it's not a handgun, but supposed to notify them too, and they are supposed to allow it. Supposed to stressed in both situations.

The only other rule I can find that's different than a normal rifle is that the person has to be 21 or older that you sell it to.

TN state law:

- An 18 year old can legally buy handgun or long gun in private sale in TN.

- A minor can be legally given or loaned handgun or long gun in TN.

But there's a law regarding specifically "receivers" or "lowers" in regard to private sales that is different from long gun or handgun (meaning the serialized part that makes it a "firearm")?
