I have a co worker that was in need of some cash, and has sold me his Sig for what I think was a good deal (cheap). Any opinions on this piece ? It is like new. (haven't had a chance to try it out yet)

Thanks,

Woody

Cheap enough that I can get rid of it if I don't like it. :D Like I said he *needed* money.

The SigPro is the Redheaded Step Child of the Sig Line. The Sig "Purests" do not like them for the most part. I have the newer version of this piece and imho it has a better trigger and shoots better then the classic Sigs.

That's kinda what I thought, but like I said, it was cheap. I'll try to find time to run some rounds through it and see what I think.

Well since everyone has asked but kinda danced around the issue what do you consider cheap?

I had a 2340 and really liked it. I just could not get use to the stacked dot sights. If it would have been a 9mm, I would probably still have it. I never had an issue and it was very tight.

They're great and popular with LE in the Tidewater area of Virginia.

The only reason I don't own one is because flat baseplates aren't available in the US, however there is a fellow on SigFourm trying to get Sig to run a custom batch.

There is another guy on the SF who is selling new ones with night sights and I think three mags for $479 shipped. I'm not associated with him in any way, and that's the lowest I've ever seen them advertised. So anything under that or near it would bea good deal!

I had a Sig Pro 2022 .40 and it was a great gun. The Sig Pro line is kind of a hidden jewel. The guns aren't too expensive and they shoot great. I agree with utarch00, the trigger on every Sig Pro I've shot was butter.

I do not think SIG is capable of making a bad gun. I lust after a 239.

I had one and it was a tack driver. I just didn't need a .40 so I sold it. Good gun with no problems.

I had one and loved it... problem was finding a holster (this was when they first came out).

I'd buy another one. I like them better than the new Sig P250.

Why, Molon? I have not tried the P250 yet am very interested. I did rather like the P2022.:)

Not having fired the P250, my only basis for comparison is from holding and dry-firing both. The Sig-Pro has a much more useable trigger. The DAO trigger on the P250 has a very long reset, which is fine if you can get used to that... I just didn't personally see it as an improvement.

hi,

i have a 2340 myself and it really has a nice smooth and even trigger pull even in double action mode. it has a very solid and quality feel to it.

i recently acquired a .357sig barrel for it that i havent fired yet but i'm sure will perform with "Sig' perfection. [ i am a bit biased ]

take it out and shoot it --- i'll bet you'll love it.
