Are you kidding me?!...

This video is so wrong it makes me sick. This has to be the least scientific and most biased test I have ever seen.

Proof that Concealed Carry permit holders live in a dream world

The controlled study documented in these videos show that concealed carry permit holders are fooling themselves if they think they will be able to react effectively to armed aggressors. Most CCW holders won't even be able to un-holster their gun. They will more likely be killed themselves or kill innocent bystanders than stop the aggressor. For more details, see "Unintended Consequences: Pro-Handgun Experts Prove That Handguns Are a Dangerous Choice for Self-Defense." http://www.vpc.org/studies/unincont.htm.

CCW permit holders don't protect innocent people. They kill them.

This has been out for a while, and no it was not a fair or accurate test.

Yes, this was done several years ago and it was far from a fair or accurate test. Two specific problems related to it that I like to point out is: 1) Nobody (as far as I am aware) has attempted to replicate the exercise in a fair way, and 2) As long as nobody puts together something to replicate this exercise, the original will continue to be peddled by the anti-gun crowd as "evidence" that CCW laws are dangerous. The sheeple are too ignorant to know the difference.

I'd also like to point out the exercise was put together with the help of a police department, which is from the days when MOST cops were anti-gun. That was when I first started in law enforcement and I was one of the few cops who believed that people had a right to carry a firearm.

EDIT:

Ya know, I'm in a position where I can actually try to replicate this, except under more legitimate conditions. Maybe I should put my money where my mouth is.

There's also plenty of truth in there too.

Problem is they are jumping to a pretty far conclusion from the 'test'.

Think about the people you see at the Range and in your CCW class.

Now think about them in the front of row of an Active Shooter scenario.

Most of them will do worse than the people in the video.

There is no truth to the video. Unless the perps always know who is carrying. They come in and run straight to the CCW holder. sure not everyone may be the most trained or prepared, but I see in NO way are things WORSE with a handgun carrier in the crowd.

The video just confirms the importance of practice and using good judgment about when to shoot. A crowded lecture hall with people all around doesn't seem like the ideal time to pull your gun -- too much risk of collateral damage.

There are thousands of cases of HCP/CCP holders saving their lives and the lives of others with their carry weapon; at a minimum there are hundreds of cases every year of citizens intervening against armed aggressors and coming out on top. One BS study means nothing against actual proof.

Besides all that, it is about having a choice. I don't care if the odds are stacked against me or not. I want to be the one who decides what my options are, not some limousine liberal that has never been outside their gated community without a bodyguard.

Yeah that crap load of crap is a little old. There really needs to be an unbiased test done to show people the difference. I also have to wonder if anyone did better and just got edited out to push an agenda, wouldn't surprise me in the least.

That was the 1st thing I noticed. The shooter clearly knew who his threat was.

A more realistic scenario would have been to have one of the students who went through the training come in with directions to see how many "unarmed" fellow students he could shoot before they got away. An unexpected gun on someone in the back of the room (where I'd sit, if armed) may have resulted in the outcome many of us would expect.

What is unrealistic is who shot who. All have same colored paint and the attacker knows he can't be injured. Full sized paint balls hurt I bet that those are less that a bb strike. Simply if an untrained attacker starts receiving return fire most of the time they go down or flee. I personally stand on my back deck and practice drawing from a similar concealment with a loaded weapon weekly. That is what sd is about being prepared, not just having a gun. And how are they to say that CCP holders don't train. I am willing to bet that the responsible ones have more time practicing to draw from concealment concealment than these people have holding a weapon. Just my 2cents.

Sent from iPad in the woods.

They hurt just as much if not more than paintball. I only got hit once with it and it took skin off my knuckle. Learning how to shoot from cover!

Based on years of playing paintball, never been shot with a BB gun though

Let's not kid ourselves, though...if a bad guy is willing to do a little homework, there are plenty of signs to indicate that a person may be carrying or will at least make a bad guy think you are.

If you go walking around in a "concealment vest/garment" or have a fighting knife with the head of it sticking out our your strong arm front pocket, etc...you could be made. People who don't carry may never notice but people who do or those who need to know based on their chosen profession may be able to tell or at least make some reasonable assumptions.

That's why, except for the rare occasions when I'm carrying openly, I go to great pains to make me NOT look like someone who is carrying. ;)
