and how did this all become about the money , ??? I'm sure he has a lot of money in his 9mm AR build , thought it was all about the diff options that are out for a 9mm rifle or carbine is what I thought we where talking about

If I wanted something besides an AR, I'd get it instead. There's something about having a build/variant that isn't on every gun store shelf and present in a lot of folks' gun safes.

Did you just cut and copy this to a PM?

Guy, no one is pouncing on anything. It's all about putting out correct information or clarifying posts. My feelings weren't hurt when Dolomite corrected my F1/F4 comment. No one is attacking you.

Your unformatted wall of words is hard to decipher. If you're going to bother to post, can you please make it easier for us to read?

This thread started out with the OP simply showing off his 9mm AR build. You questioned why he didn't just go with any of the various Glock conversions that you were providing links to. I was merely suggesting that instead of spending all of the money necessary to convert your Glock pistol to SBR/carbine configuration, you could buy the S2K and keep the Glock as-is. I was just tossing my ideas out there. Sorry for adding my 2 cents. :surrender:

. I see your point that does make more sence sorry did not mean it that way , you are right that might have been a better option never thought of it that way. Title did say like glocks? Like 9mm ar's Edited by ted

I built up a 9mm AR and love it. Handled a DDLES built up 9mm AR. Their lowers are the cats meow. Wish they would have had them out when I built my mine up.

And the above link is misleading as it says nowhere on the add about registering as an SBR, as it should. It does mention it in the "Review" though.........As you were.

SBR

Yes, NFA rules apply anytime you add a shoulder stock to a handgun it becomes a SBR,you must register unless you like Federal Prison. rate_100.gif

And you have a nice setup there. One of my favorite previous rifles was a 7.5" 9mm AR. Lots of fun. Unfortunately it was during the Clinton AWB days and Colt SMG mags were running about $135 each, when you could find them.

Glock30,

Absolutely LOVE the build. The Double Diamond small glock receiver is on my short list.

Question if I may ... This: "YHM ramped bolt, machined to accept Glock magazines by Double Diamond"

Did you send DDLES the ramped YHM bolt, or is this the bolt they advertise here: http://www.shop.doub...ber-Bolt-BB.htm

Thanks! I hope to build myself a 9mm dedicated AR here in the next few months! :) It will be my first build, so I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row!

Rusty, it's the one they advertise; I got it directly from them. Your best bet is to either build an upper (something I've yet to try) or attempt to buy an upper without a bolt. That way, you get the upper you want and drop the bolt into place.

The ready-to-go bolt from DDLES doesn't cost much more than a standard bolt, with none of the frustration.
