Bought a revolver...for the first time!

Went to my private dealer with the intent to buy a Kahr P40...shot it off a few times and was having difficulty with the recoil and my thumb hitting the mag release.

My hubby had just purchased the Taurus Model 82 6 shooter .38 special and kept on insisting that I try it....said the recoil was less than my .380.

I loved it soooo much that I bought the Taurus model 85 5 shooter .38 special! It was smooth and accurate; I especially love the fact that the revolver can be used as either a single or double action.

That is now my carry weapon!!!

Congrats MrsS, that is great that you found something that you like so much. Is yours the Ultra Light?

Congrats Mrs.S!! I have the same gun (ultra-lite) and I love it ALMOST as much as my Glock 27  I rotate between the two for carry. Good choice!

Its almost impossible to beat a revolver, for the bedroom, glove compartment or daily carry. While I carry a Colt Officer's Model (.45acp) daily, I have a back up S&W Mod. 66, 2.5" in the glove compartment and my wife has a S&W Mod. 15 2".

The ease of operation, no manual safety and ability to shoot +P .38's, for my wifes revolver is a hugh advantage for her. Six shots and always good to go! The weight of the Mod. 15 absorbes recoil and it is comfortable to shoot.

You made an excellent choice!

Good choice! I have 5 guns and 99% of the time when i leave to go somewhere i have my S&W Mod.360 either in my Milt Sparks OWB or in my pocket.

If you can find someplace that sells Speer gold dot Short barrel ammo try it. It was made special for short barrel revolvers. For carry ammo i always keep that in mine either in 38 or 357.
