NEW AGENT CARRY OPTIONS ???

Guest Nunya

Ordered my Colt New Agent in .45acp. I'm a small guy and concealment is a must, so my options are limited. I usually carry IWB (Front Line or Don Hume that covers only the trigger guard) with larger guns or pocket with smaller. Because this is SA, I'm debating the whole locked and cocked option, so I would think a thumbreak with snap is in order.

I will get a belt slide for OWB, when my wardrobe allows, but I would like suggestions on a good IWB for this gun.

Thoughts?

I know your looking for a thumb break holster. But one holster i cannot recommend enough is the n82tactical.com original tuckable holster. it is by far the most comfortable holster i have ever owned. I carry a para warthog (new agent sized but double stack mag), keeps the gun securly against the leather back there is no way for the safety to move or any way for the trigger to be accessed. I carry slightly the right of the small of my back with it, the holster works for side carry too.

Also if you get the original or original tuckable it will actually work for most compacts (this is the main reason i didnt go with their professional). The side that goes against your body is soft suede and is almost cushy.

Thanks, guys. That gives me some options to try. I have a Front-Line IWB Clip that should fit it, so I guess that's what I'll carry it home with tomorrow. Once I have it in hand, I'll keep an eye out for one of these three. I have used a Remora before, but never tried the other two you've suggested.

I carry the one you shot in a Remora holster all the time. It works well for me.

Which Remora do you have? I didn't realize they had so many options.

Settled on a Galco and have one more question. It is super tight, barely for the gun in the hojster and snapped. Should I do anything to loosen it? I am afraid I couldn't draw it on a situation.

The holster will loosen up after you use it for a while. A completely different idea that I had for you after I got my new Cimarron Wild Bunch .45 would be a lanyard loop. Get some kind of a neck chain, sling or whatever and there ya go. Just like Tuco (the Ugly) from the spaghetti westerns. Ready to use instantly. Just tryin to help a youngster.

You ain't right! I've seen people carry P32's like that, but this thing weighs three pounds~

Here's what I decided on. A Galco.

I couldn't resign myself to carry locked and cocked without a thumbstrap. ( I kept felling for the safety to make sure it was on safe.)

This one goes between the hammer and firing mechanism, so I feel better now.

Looks like sweeping your thumb down to unsnap the holster could do the safety as well. If you need it that's fine, if not in a foggy moment you could have an AD. That's a serious thought by the way, just so you know.

Good point. The thought had crossed my mind. I think I'll unload it and do a few dry runs. It has a stiff metal insert in the thumbbreak that looks like it is designed to avoid that but we'll see.

The "channel" sight (or lack thereof) is hard to get used to. Once I did, it's 3" accurate out to 7 yards. Does what it should.

Recoil is surprisingly light considering size v. caliber. My 13 year old son handled it just fine.

I finally broke down and got some ammo at Walmart (nobody would give up any aftermarket, despite my frequent posts) yesterday, so I'll put it through its paces again tomorrow.
