Case Lube

Recommended Posts

I think??? That I ran across a post some time ago that gave a recipe for "homemade" case lube. Does anyone remember what it takes and how it is done? I use Dillon and just about to run out, thought I might give it a try.

Thanks

I had understood that if you use a carbide resizing die, case lube was not necessary. Yes, no?

Case lube is about ease as well. Carbide dies may not need it but sizing is so much easier when lubed. I even lube 45 ACP brass.

It also prevents cases from getting stuck. I have had cases get stuck when I thought there was no way in hell they would. Or I have had rims get pulled off or pulled through the shell holder.

No you don't HAVE to lube carbide. BUT, as Dolomite says, it helps. I do it because it makes cycling my press MUCH easier. With this fouled up shoulder, cranking a hundreds of the buggers will really inflame it. A little spray lube makes it a whole lot easier on ME.

You spray it on your shoulder? WD-40 helps arthritis in my hands.

Kidding aside, where do you purchase 100% iso or pure lanolin locally?
