Nashville dinner recommendations

So, what I was told was a one day work trip is now two days. I'll be staying in Midtown (thanks for the hotel tips yesterday) and was wondering where I should eat?

Any recommendations?

I like all types of food but I would rather drive extra and have something amazing rather than the same old stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Monell's

1235 6th Ave. North

Or, if you're in the mood for cheap and fast - Cori's Dog House - 29th and West End.

Demo's hands down, one of the best family style restaurants around.

Maggiano's on West End Ave

The Melting Pot on 2nd Ave North (a little pricey)

Amerigo on West End Ave

And if you just want a good sub, the Sub Stop on Broadway is terrific!

Amerigo's on West End, and McCabe's Pub on Murphy Road off West End just past Maggliano's and turn right.

Monell's is awesome. You need to head downtown to The Southern for some real good eating.

Demos's is mediocre, don't know why anyone would recommend them.

I work on their cooking gear, clean, GOOD people.

Ted's Montana Grill on West End is a great steak alternative to cow. The bison is very good.

You didn't mention a budget. Stoney River is on West End also Probably the best steak you'll eat in Nashville would be at Jimmy Kelly's.

You must have hit it on a bad night or something. I've been eating at Demos' for years, mostly the Lebanon location but the Downtown location as well. Nothing but great food and great service every time. I'm very picky about my steak and Demos' is one of the few places that can cook it right. Their spaghetti and whatnot is great as well.

You need to try Copper Kettle on Granny White right across the street from Lipscomb. Great meat and three.

Also, isn't The Standard on 8th Ave N owned by a TGO member?

I believe it is owned by the brother of TGO member Smith.

Monell's or Demos'

HANDS DOWN... Unless you want to get really fancy and go to somewhere like Elendale's or Darfon's.

Anything that is not a chain. Why come to a city and eat somewhere you can eat anywhere?

Unclejak had the best recommendations. Sambuca is awesome.
