Anyone bow hunt LBL?

curious if anyone here bow hunts LBL? any advice for a first timer? i havent hunted in probably 15 years and have a buddy who has never hunted and hes wanting to go as well. i think i may talk him into going up there with me.

any advice and/or just stories would be great.

It has been years since I hunted LBL, but the best advice I can give is - get in early, and take a orange vest or hat with you. That way you can signal the idiot just walking in at 8:30 that you are there.

I hate public deer hunts . Occasionally the fools will run a deer right to you, but more likely they will run one off.

Never hunted it, but I have hiked a lot of it. I am always looking for deer sign while hiking. There is a lot of acorns and other mast this year.Good luck, let us know how you do.

LBL offers some fine Bow Hunting opportunities. Those "hills and hollers" there hold some fine bucks! We like to go down and do a little backwoods camping and bow hunt. Makes for good times. The Gatlin Point area is a good place to start. Also take time to visit the welcome center, and inquire about hog sightings. LBL wants you to harvest hogs at every opportunity. What an awesome bonus to a deer hunt! There are some BIG ones around!

I have never had any bad experiences (at least with hunters) while hunting there.
