Do We Need This?

“The right of each citizen to keep and bear arms is fundamental and shall not be infringed. Any restriction on this right shall be subject to strict scrutiny.â€

Its no differ than ours is now with our “with a view to prevent crime.â€

You have the right or you don’t. Remove the part I put in bold and you have the right; anything else and you don’t have the right.

If we are going to copy a state lets copy one of the four that recognizes the right. Louisiana isn’t one of them and they still won’t be if they pass that.

With respect to law, it is different. "Strict scrutiny" has legal significance, whereas "a view" does not. While not ideal, this is at least a step in the right direction in LA.

Concerning rights: As a gift from my Creator, I have the right to bear arms, an extension of my right to life, and to defend same. This right can neither be granted or restricted by government. It can only be violated.

Governments and other thugs may have power to take my life, they cannot take my right.
