Israel has so many great ideas....

I know some of you do not support Israel as vehemently as I do. A few here may just be downright anti semitic about it. I don't wanna debate that. Just think about some of the things they do over there. Their logic is undeniable. They have stores of outdated but perfectly serviceable weapons. Instead of disposing or selling them, what do they do? Put them to use by God! Looks like a teacher on a field trip or something sporting a M1 Carbine. Hmph, and you wonder why you've never heard of school shooting [like ours] in Israel. I would LOVE to know I had a child in school where the teacher has served, been trained and qualified with a rifle he/she carries everywhere they go. It's beautiful.

I have always admired the way that the Israelis handle themselves when it comes to personal and national defense.

Can you imagine a lady getting ready for a day at work teaching? Gets up, fixes her hair and make up, grabs her keys, her purse and her rifle heads off to school. How cool is that? Not only, but the kids are numb to the sight of a gun.

Kids here in the states would go crazy. The kids there are probably like " Meh, whatever. " No different than a car or a blackboard or any other inanimate object. Just a normal day and these are the tools we need to get by in life.

It will never happen here. Too much ignorance/fear about guns.

I am impressed with Israel. I am not a religious person, so I have no opinions on Israel regarding religion, or any sort.

I like their history, they way they continue on living regardless of anyone else's opinion. I like the way they handle things.

I am also fascinated with their weapons, which is in no small part the reason I carry a Jericho compact.

I guess it is kind of complicated to have a modern capitalist society in the middle of a country that has always been at war on it's own turf. Which is why you see teachers carrying rifles, or chicks at the beach in bikinis with an M16 slung across their back...

I don't think they have much choice. They would have been toast long ago if they acted like us.

I don't know that I'd want to live in a society like that!

We may be sooner than you think. I hope not, but it's very possible if our economy tanks through all the

quantitative easing Bernanke is giving us. Israel is doing it because they believe in something greater

than them.

We should support them for the same reasons and get back to believing in similar principles, because

it's worth it.

A society like what? One with balls and a spine. An attitude of "I will fight my enemies to the death, I will defend my family and loved ones with my life"? A society that hasn't been neutered by political correctness and not only accept but embrace survival of the fittest. To secure the peace, you must prepare for war. Apathy is death. Raise a family with love and understanding but defend them with a fist of iron and a heart of stone??? I could go on but I won't.

It's beautiful to me. Unlike the spineless castrated cowardly pissants being perpetuated [not by us here at TGO] in this once great country.

I was in Israel in 2000 and while visiting Masada I saw a group of high school aged kids carrying a US marked M1 carbine. They passed it around so everyone had a turn carrying it.

Friend, I am a staunch ally to Israel, and I don't care who knows it. Brilliant idea. So is 2 years of mandatory military service....
