No, they are just being proactive. I'd say every major retailer has a plan like this. Makes sense too. It happened both times Bill Clinton was elected and it happened when Obama was elected the first time. And I think it will happen again if he is re-elected in November. Nothing says it won't.

Meh, just don't see it going down like that to be honest. It doesn't seem to be "their" way.

Anyway doesn't really matter to me, I only buy the occasional gun to keep it out of criminal hands. They get trades for gas cards with the local pd about twice a year.

Under which anti-gun politician do you see that taking place, though? The one who is currently in office or the one who actually signed sweeping anti-gun legislation into effect in his state as governor? Oh, yeah, I forgot - he has explained all that, put our fears at rest and promised that he doesn't plan to do any such thing as president. We can all rest assured because politicians never lie and their words are a much more accurate indicator of their intentions than their past deeds.

My thinking is that neither is a friend of gun owners. I don't think either will be 'coming for' guns we already own (yet) but I do believe it to be possible that either of them will make getting new ones (and the ammo to go with them) more difficult. If Romney is elected, I expect a lot of those folks who don't 'perceive' a threat to gun ownership to get blindsided. The best plan is probably to 'stock up' as much as is practical regardless of the results in November. Now, I'm not talking about burying crates of ARs and pallet loads of ammo in the back yard or anything but, for myself, I want a decent 'buffer' of ammo and/or reloading components to help feed my shooting habit for the next, few years if necessary.

Something I find odd is that I was in 2 gun shops today and they were both complaining about it being slow.

Something that pisses the American people off more than anything is wrongful confiscation of there hard earned possessions whether it be cars, property, and certainly there guns. People have paid lots of hard earned money to buy their guns, and they are surely not willing to turn them over to a bunch of commies after living in freedom all their lives. I'm gonna say at least 50% are not willing to turn their guns in to a commie government. The government certainly doesn't won't to stir up an angry nation of gun owners. Too many gun owners and too many guns that would make the Revolutionary and Civil wars look like picnics.

I don't sell guns. But I see the concern. That is a very true statement. It will probably go down as a must be sold thur a ffl dealer with a heavy fee or tax.

After Heller, I honestly do not see anything like that ever happening. If even ever passed, I certainly do not see many, if any, states going along with it after all of the 10th amendment laws (weed and firearm freedom acts).

I see Repub 'sitters keeping O from doing anything anti-gun. I fear their guards will be down if Mittens is elected and he'll have a fun go at a gun grab. Especially with so many folks taking him on his "it was a pro-gun legislation" BS.

Would be piece of cake. American public would support it in significant majority. Republican house would vote for it, since most of the reps' constituencies would, especially if they get some other little sop.

Hell, 15 states already ban private sales in some form or other, either totally, or handguns only, or at gun shows.

srsly, I do not see many Rs voting for such. Some might vote for a less-broad gun show loophole explicit.
