Firearms confiscation. How would it go down?

Who do you think will win, if these pull into your town?..

The US doesn't have enough tanks to lock down a couple of our largest cities, let alone the whole US.

If you think it'll come to that just to get the guns, might as well toss in tactical nukes too.

I keep reading that the military will not carry out unlawful orders. It will be hard to determine what is a lawful order when groups of americans are called "terrorists"

That's a very good counter point. There's plenty of valid comments on both sides of Can They or Can't They.

AWBII, confiscation, legislation, on and on. I get so worked up over it when I dwell on it too long, but it's come to me recently.

I've decided I don't care anymore. I'm tired of exacerbating an ulcer on this. They will do what they want. I will do what I want. I would NEVER condone or promote illegal activities....normally. I've decided I will be part of the crowd who will be labeled as "Failure to comply" God has graciously blessed me with the good fortune to have enough to cover me for what's left of this life.

I don't WANT to see violence over the matter, but Mehh, let them come. This world is getting old and boring anyway.

If you think the Constitution will protect your guns, you've already forgotten that the Heller decision came down on the side of RKBA by just a single vote. And the next president will probably select two, and maybe as many as three SCOTUS justices.

They probably won't try to confiscate your guns, it's more likely they'll coerce you into turning them in. Ubamacare was designed to bankrupt the private health care industry (Ubama long has dreamed of

), and they intend setting the IRS on you if you're uninsured. You do remember the IRS, don't you? They're the guys with their own cops and their own courts, and they're charged with enforcing thousands upon thousands of open-ended laws. And in their courts, you are guilty unless you can prove yourself innocent.

So what do you do if the law requires you to have health insurance, and Ubamacare is the only choice available? And what if the Ubamacare czar decides firearms owners add too much financial burden to government health care and are ineligible? Even with the NICS instant background check, there's still a paper trail.

What's to stop them requiring distributors to provide a list by serial number of every firearm delivered to every FFL since the 1968 GCA? And then require those FFLs to provide a list of names and addresses of everyone they've sold a firearm too. Or just surrender the 4473s. And then require every individual who bought a gun either to turn it in or to provide information on its current whereabouts. And by virtue of being a former gun owner, you also will have to sign a form consenting to open your home for periodic unannounced "health and safety" inspections, just to make sure you didn't hang on to Grandpa's LC Smith doublebarrel, just out of sentimentality, or you won't be eligible.

In the eye of the Bolsheviks currently in the White House, you know this would be deemed a reasonable accommodation under 2A, not at all a violation of it. And all that's missing is one more gun-grabbing activist on SCOTUS who agrees with their view of 2A to make it all possible.

The fastest and easiest way to rid a large chunk of people of their guns isnt that hard. They simply pass the legislation, give the population a certain amount of time to turn them in at specified locations, and those that dont, will be on a hit list.

I like to think that everything is good in fantasy land as anyone else. But the point is, it isnt. Recent legislation has already shown what way the wind is blowing. And SCOTUS dont mean jack. Look at DC and Chicago. Nothing changed after those rulings. Can you say Posse Comitatus? That essentially no longer applies, as well as Habeas Corpus. Its not hard to see once you look at all the pieces of the puzzle.

And Alex Jones may come across as over the top on a lot of issues, but he doesnt make this stuff up. Instead he passes on the info and covers information that the large outlets refuse to. To be honest, I feel that we should all question the governments actions after what happend with Fast n Furious. If their willing to go there, theres not much else they wouldnt attempt.

Certainly he makes things up; no one can take him seriously. He is laughing at those that believe the non-sense he puts out; all the way to the bank.

Not only can I say Posse Comitatus and Habeas Corpus but I know what they mean; Alex Jones doesn’t. I can’t take too much of Alex Jones at a time, that level of ignorance and anti-American behavior makes my head hurt, but I have watched a few of the videos that have been linked here and he clearly is clueless.

If you will recall, the US troops were included in being called terrorist, along with right-winged extremists, such

as Tea Party members. When the Big sis gets removed, maybe all those status' will change. :D

Well if you know what they mean, you should also know that they are basically non existant these days. How is his behavior anti-American? If anything he is exercising his rights. Whether you agree with him or not. Please speculate.

I think in that senerio, the military will be in danger of division and conflict within itself, the "TOP" military leaders certainly don't want that to happen. Soldiers have no problem carrying out orders when confronting Taliban and Mid-Eastern combatants, I would say many of them would have a problem confronting Americans.

In the November issue of the NRA's "1st Freedom" magazine, Dave Kopel paints the scenario where Ubama unilaterally would ban import of all handguns and "assault weapons" and instruct the BATF to categorize basically all firearms as "destructive devices," which would put them under the purview of the 1934 NFA. .22-cal revolvers would be excluded because that's what Dick Heller (of DC v Heller) was fighting to own, so they will argue none of this violates 2A or the SCOTUS ruling. And they'll give all owners of newly-defined destructive devices two years to file their Form 4s. In big cities, where CLEOs commonly are leftist politicians, even where handguns now are legal, they'll never manage to get the CLEO sign-off.

Mexico will sue US gunmakers over firearms deaths there. Not only will DoJ allow the suits to go forward, AG Holder will file an amicus brief in support of the Mexican claim. EPA will ban all lead bullets under the 1976 Toxic Substances Control Act. CPSC will ban all airguns capable of more than 400 fps MV due to the unreasonable risk of injury to children (but exempting the Daisy Red Ryder).

Ubama also will sign the UN's Arms Trade Treaty, senate ratification or no. Within weeks, the UN will embargo the US and Israel because US law allows shooting to defend, not just in defense of life, but also against rape or robbery, which violates the criminal's human right to life. And Israel has "the worst human rights record on the planet".

With a swing of a single justice on SCOTUS, it will clarify the Heller decision to stipulate it applies solely to .22 revolvers. And they will declare the 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act unconstitutional. With the contraction of gun sales in general owing to the "destructive devices" ruling, and the overturning of the LCIAA, the nuisance lawsuits will doom what few firearms manufacturers that remain to bankruptcy.

At the end of the two year grace period, ATF agents will begin inspection of all FFLs to confirm there has been a Form 4 filed for every 4473 on file. If there's no form 4, they'll track down the buyer listed on the 4473. If the owner can't produce the tax stamp, he's hosed. If the firearm was resold, the original purchaser still is responsible unless he can identify the new owner. Low-level first time offenders can avoid the $10K/10 years per device in exchange for a $5K fine and lifetime ban from owning firearms or ammunition.

Sure, there'll be a flurry of Pro-2A law suits, but considering how the Bolsheviks have spent the last decades years stacking the appellate courts with their own kind, with this president and this AG, what are the odds that any of them could be settled before every last gun manufacturer in the US in bankrupted.

That’s a pretty wild ride you took us on there. But there is a reason it won’t happen “States Rightsâ€. It’s the same reason the SCOTUS ruled you have the right to “Keep Arms†but not the right to “Bear Armsâ€.

I have said it before and I will say it again… the SCOTUS (no matter who is on it) will not make a ruling that is unenforceable on the states. It’s the very reason that when they ruled you have the right to “Keep Arms†they didn’t rule you have the right to “Bear Armsâ€; they can’t.

If the President or the Federal Government had all the power some of the “The government is out to get us†theorists think they have, and they truly wanted to disarm the public; they would have done it by now.

It just won’t happen.

The American people also won’t let the criminals south of us that call themselves a government sue us for anything. If they want paid they are going to have to get it from their ally cartels.

I'm more concerned about the gov coming for my beer. It is the next logical step for Bloomberg.

Bloomberg is a piece of work.

Everyone has really been curious as to what kind of flexibility Obama will have with Putin if he gets re-elected.

Maybe after Obama is re-elected and he gets more flexibility, then he will team up with Putin, and the Ruskies will invade our country via the Bering Straits, and they agree to join Obama's civilian army, and they go door to door making their way from the northwest and move eastward until all guns are confiscated. Starting in those western liberal states, they will not face as much resistance, and they won't have to wear blue helmets, because blue is so visible. Their helmets will have a big O on them, and their slogan will be "Forward, and lets put to good use all that ammo that DHS has bought for us, and make use of all these FEMA prison camps". Lots of scenarios that possibly could happen when these two smart guys get together. Maybe Obama changes the dollar currency into Russian rubles. Maybe Obama gives Alaska back to Russia with love. Maybe they will go horseback riding together without their shirts on.

I could even picture you drinking Russian vodka and riding horse back with Putin and Obama shirtless.

Real vodka is sooo much better than the crap we get here. Anyone who's ever had Starka knows what I'm talking about.

At least there's an upside if the Russians come marching in.

Ah heck, the Punisher probably thinks prohibition is imminent if the Big O is re-upped.

I have kept my clothes on since my last bout with tequila back in 84

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Obama and Michelle along with the rest of the Libtards bring back Prohibition; they are on their way to Soft Drink Prohibition.

If you can't handle your drinking, I don't believe you will get to ride horseback with Putin and Obama. I'm sure they will find something else for you, but you're at least gonna have to take your shirt off with them.

Plus the mail order bride acquisition process wouldn't be so difficult. There are many upsides to accepting Mother Russia with open arms. Patrick Swaze and Charlie Sheen had it all wrong.

It can happen. And did happen in New Orleans after Katrina. Police Chief announced a ban of all guns in the city and they went door to door on warrantless searches of law-abiding citizens. Confiscated guns and some have never been returned. State and Feds stood by, even allowed NG tropps to be asked to help. Some did, some didn't. Check out Oath Keepers (www.oathkeepers.org) to see how you can help prevent this. You don't need to be currently or ex LE and/or military to join this organization which hopes to educate LEs and military of their obligation to "uphold and defend the Constitution". My oath had no experiation date, how about yours?

Mine has never expired; it’s why I’ll never turn my back on my people or try to overthrow my government.

We are all painfully aware of what happened during Katrina. It was a small isolated incident during a tragedy the likes of which most communities have never seen. We are also aware that Tennessee and many other states took measures to make sure it can’t happen again.

The rules were not clear to some then…. They are now.
