I get the desire to 'change' people that makes this appealing to certain groups and maybe some families, but this is pseudoscience at best and highly unethical at its worst.

BTW - it is basically the same "therapy" often used for pedophiles, rapist, and others who have certain "uncontrollable" urges that they want to try to bring under control. The term of "reorientation therapy" is an attempt to generalize any and all homosexual psychological therapy as against the law.

The term is just trying to illicit the idea that shock therapy and other Nazish type "therapy's" that the eugenicist tried is the same as with legitimate help that many are seeking and finding results with.

The attempt is to not only legalize any and every aspect of homosexuality, but to make any and every opposition to it as illegal. This is a very dangerous concept.

There are plenty of gays that are of a religious background that are in conflict with their beliefs and urges. If that means seeking therapy to control their urges and be hetero, that is their business, not the gov's. When I was a kid I had strong urges to be a dinosaur. Turns out that wasn't a very realistic life plan. If I wanted to seek professional help to suppress those urges that would be my business. If I want to dress up like a dino and pretend to have T-Rex arms, that is cool too. Bottom line, the gov just needs to STFU and stay out of people's lives. Good or bad, folks can make choices for themselves.

I'm sure there have been "successes". Takes all kinds to make a world. I've known couple of women that were probably driven into the lifestyle by wife beating idiots. I have another friend with a full grown daughter, and I'll promise you that he was queer as a football bat the day he was born.

That's the difference Mike. We aren't animals that have to give into every carnal crave and instinctive desire. And yes there are many who have great success coming our of homosexuality. You won't heat about it unless you look for it. It doesn't fit the homosexual agenda.

Agenda? What agenda? They were forced into hiding for decades. Both of my parents are left handed. So am I. They tried to beat it out of my dad when he was a kid. It didn't work for him, but they had some "successes".

I have looked into it. I know enough homos to redecorate all the buildings in downtown Nashville. I've known most of them for a long time. I'm not mocking christians. I'm mocking some folks that ignore facts.
