Open carry: a bad idea

These ideas are nothing new, in fact they are more than 200 years old, Reagan articulated these brilliantly in more recent times. The takeaway is that our rights have been stripped incrementally, and we will get them back incrementally if we have the will to make a call, send an email, have a voice, and not be shouted down by the narrow interests that want to naively achieve the unachievable or in a more sinister way, detach the circuit breakers built into our political system in an effort to reduce us to check writing robots.

I will say this and be done. I, most of the time carry concealed. That being said, If I am in my car going to or from work I have my shirt tucked in as I am in my work uniform. If I have to run into the store on one of those occasions, I am not going to untuck my shirt just to cover up the fact that I am carrying. I was going into the store the other day and some bum walked up to me and started asking me for money. He saw the gun and left. Not the reason that I carried openly, but hey it was a deterrent. I then went into food lion, got what I was there for and got in line. The lady, not even seeing my guns (yes, two) let me in front of her because I only had two items and he had a cart full. While I was paying, she said, "Maybe I should have kept you behind me since you have those guns and could protect me until I leave." That started a conversation between her and me and the manager about how crazy it is for all of the sheeple out there to freak out anytime they see a gun. I mentioned that the reason that I shop at food lion instead of bi lo is that even though their sign is not legal, they have shown their preference that guns are not welcome, so respecting their wishes, I will take my $$$$ elsewhere. The manager just said that she is happy to have HCP holders carry there b/c it makes her feel much safer. I have never been a victim of a "Shoot me first" criminal or one trying to take my gun away. I have been trained in gun retention and drawing fast and shooting. I am not worried about that, but for comfort and simply less of a hassle (untucking my shirt, then tucking it back in when I get to work), I will open carry. So, where exactly has that been a bad idea for me? I just don't see it.
