Should I buy it?

Came across a Marlin 336 .44 today for $500.00. It's in good condition and was made in 1965. How often do these guns pop up for sale?

Should I race over there and buy it before someone else does?

Those seem to be pretty sought after, odds are you could have a bunch of fun with it and get your money back out of it later if you felt inclined. I'd especially do it if your setup to reload, those things have a pricey diet.

Yeah I know. 44 rounds are very expensive. I had a revolver and sold it a while back.

I think I might do it. I'll have to sell one of my other toys though.

I wasnt aware they made the 336 in .44mag. Why is it so desirable? I thought the 44s were 1894 frames?

They made them in 336 from 1963-1967. After that, they went back to 1894 frames.

I decided not to buy it. I just don't have the cash right now. For those interested, it is at Gander Mountain in Knoxville.
