Gallatin Gun Club will host a 3-gun match on Oct. 13th. This is inplace of the regular IDPA match usually held on that day. 60 pistol, 40 rifle and 40 shotgun. 5 stages. No slugs or buckshot needed. Normal match fees of $15 for non-members and $10 for members. Start time is 9:00AM. As usuall, gate will be closed, we will do gate checks to make sure everybody is in. Youth will be permitted to use .22 for pistol and rifle and 20 or .410 gauge shotguns. We will use IMG rules for this match. Their is an option for one shot kills or any two hits on target in IMG. We will have divisions for iron sight, scoped and open rifle. Regular and heavy metal. Bring your combo out and will put it in some division.

If you don't have enought equipment, come anyway, I'll have extra.

Is this the match in which everyone was going to bring Garands, or is that the November match?

I don't have a trench gun, but I could do a Garand, GI 1911, and an 870...

The 17 November "Veterans Salute" match at GGC is the one you are thinking about.

It will be run from the 100 yard line using the NRA Hi-Power Rifle rules on the 50 shot match format. All Vintage Military Rifles (Garands, Springfields, Foreign Bolt Actions, etc., etc.) can be shot in this match.

I'll post more details in a new thread later.

Getting back on topic - - - Nothing wrong with shooting a 3Gun using a Garand, GI 1911 and 870!

Naw - a group of us were talking about all showing up with Garands (unoffically, just for fun) at one of Robert's matches, but I've forgotten which one. I thought I might leave the FAL at home for once and bring a REAL rifle! :usa:

Hmmmm...., Vintage Heavy Metal.

Springfield Model 1903 Rifle, Winchester Model 1897 trench gun, and a Smith & Wesson Model 1917 revolver in .45ACP with moon clips.

The stage could be set up like the final scene from the Wild Bunch.

Hey Robert, all we have to do is locate a Browning Model 1917 Belt-Fed, Water-Cooled Machine Gun before next Saturday (at least one that won't already be at Knob Creek).

If you shoot a 3-gun match with a 1919A4 semi-auto you will be EVERYONE's hero. It doesn't even matter what your score is - you'd get a million point handicap for the coolness factor!

I will be at the range Friday afternoon doing most of the set up, Saturday I will staple targets and make final checks. I will need help with clean-up. Also, anybody with a RO card, I will need you. Safety officers will shoot free, see me at the check in or pm me.

So I laid down prone in my basement tonight and tried to work the action on my mossberg 590. This is going to be INTERESTING.

i want a semi-auto

Had a good time today thanks guys. Good balance of all three guns, great match. The far piece steel on the prone stage would NOT fall with a cylinder choke lol.
