7.62x54r strange shell casing

I have a Mosin 91/30 that I have only fire 8-10 rounds thru. Last night some friends of my daughter came home from college with her and we shot about 100 rnds thru the Mosin. I had one strange shell after picking up all the brass this morning. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this shooting Russian surplus ammo. The gun wasn't damage that I could tell or could this just be an over loaded shell. It is a split case. Will upload pic later. Tapatalk not working right now.

Com-block countries used less than high quality materials, some down right junk. It happens.

Remington-Peters and others have us spoiled with really high quality stuff.

I wouldn't worry too much.

I was shooting <2 inch groups at 50 yards with no bayonet. Not bad for me. That is what I thought but am new to the mosin world and just wanted to check.

Split cases are very common around the neck, especially with Czech ammo. I don't see it as much with Russian ammo but it does happen. Don't worry about it, it's part of the adventure.

might want to pick up a broken shell extractor in case one breaks inside the the chamber like what happened to me.

They are fairly cheap and the only way to get it out.

Well I think you should send it to me for testing,

you pay shipping both ways,

and send, O lets say, 1000 rounds of ammo.

After a, well some time, I will send it back on you dime for sure.

JKJKJK, I think you have enough answers, and I will agree, I do not own one, but from what I have read, all is OK.
