Anyone here own the p40? Our dealer has one and my husband wants me to get it. I currently carry a .380 but he wants me to up it to a .40. The only other .40 I have used is his Taurus PT940.

Are Kahr guns good?

What problems has the P40 had (if any)?

How is it as a carry?

I am going to the dealer and will test shoot it. Just wanted to get a bit of history on this gun.

Thanks.

Kahrs are excellent guns and ought to fit you pretty well.

I would question the wisdom of going to a .40 due to the snappy recoil. The first carry gun I had was a K40. In the end the excessive noise (that thing was loud!) the long trigger pull (they have changed them since then) and the weight (not an issue with the polymer P-series) persuaded me to trade it.

I agree with Rabbi....you will probably want to shoot one before you buy, they are a bit snappy, not a "range gun"

I have the CW40, (Basically the same thing as the p40) I LOVE it...but I cannot shoot it a lot in one range trip without feeling it..I practice with my 9, or my M&P 40c, then I make sure the Kahr is functioning by putting 30-40rds through it, and put it on my hip.
