.Anyone have any personal experience with the Rock Island 1911 in .22lr (XT22)? I believe it is a true steel 1911 in .22lr. Curious to know how it compares with a a true 1911 (takedown, interenals, ect). Is it ammo picky? good build quality? Ect?

Thanks

The lower receiver is identical to any other 1911 out there. As a matter of fact you can swap the upper for a centerfire and shoot it. The slide is 100% steel and has cutouts for weight savings. It has a fixed barrel that is held in palce with the slide stop/take down.

I am going to look for one of these now. I have been looking for a all steel 22 for use with a suppressor. I have my Ruger but I want something different.
