Help with lead

Recommended Posts

if it is soft lead (I dunno, test it with a junky knife?) you can cut it with almost any steel cutting device, a saws-all, for example, though i would personally try to use something like pruning shears that did not make any sort of "sawdust" if at all possible.

If it is long and thin enough you might be able to bend - break it, lead will break after a few bends.

You could heat up a thin wire (possibly electrically?) and melt right thru it to carve off a chunk, if careful.

Thanks all, I just got home and the air chisel seems to work pretty well , they are 3 in thick so I just kept flipping it over and worked on both sides, I might try the axe idea tommorrow, I don't want to try the saws as I want to keep the dust to a minimum

They will fit in a cast iron pot. Set the pot to one side of the burner so the heat won't melt what is hanging over the edge.

although i have about 4 cast iron pots i dont want to go this method as i use the for cooking around the camp fire ,but thanks
