Had a few denarius left over last month so I decided to bring an old warrior out of the gun safe and upgrade it. My Maverick 88 (dual rail) was my main HD until I upgraded a tornado survivor Mossberg 500A about 5 years ago. The Maverick was a very reliable weapon and I always felt it was a shame to retire it.

I put on a Blackhawk Knoxx NRS SpecOps (non recoil reducing) stock. A Limb Saver recoil pad, a Blackhawk sling and a HighViz bead. The old soldier is looking very Tacticool and appropriately deadly. I now have an HD shotgun at each end of the house, never too far away!

That's one of the things I love about my Maverick 88 over the Mossbergs that I've handled - you can work the safety with a pistol grip on. With the Mavericks it is on the trigger guard, with the Mossberg's I've had hands on, they're on top to make it easier to switch with your thumb on a standard shoulder stock which makes it impossible to work without taking your hand off the trigger when you're running a pistol grip.

Good lookin' upgrades. Hope you never have to use it for HD!

Very nice, I am not generally a fan of pistol grips on shotguns but at least yours has a shoulder stock too.

Anyway shotguns are my prefered "go to" guns, loaded with 00 buck they are just wicked nasty.

That's 'denarii'.

Thank you, I've never had a chance to correct anyone's Latin before. :D

That is one nice serious looking home defense weapon....looks mean and nasty. I do believe that if it was pointed my way that you meant business. Great looking weapon......good job  .

Looking good, how is recoil compared to standard stock?

And since I never get a chance to tell my only joke in Latin...

Semper Ubi Sub Ubi ;)

O I don't know, a naked man with a shotgun is a very persuasive sight.

Naked or not....he's got a shot gun, he has my undivided attention.....especially that one. I'm not gonna argue with anything that the man needs to say. :stunned:
