I have found this ammo quite cheap and reliable at 4.99$- 6.99$ a box the stuff is as good as the Remington ammo I have bought in the past

I shoo higher grain than 55 but It's always done well for me.

never had any trouble with any caliber of pmc, seems to be well made and reasonably consistent. I have shot some of their 223 and 556 but I forget which types exactly (and tons of pmc "handgun" caliber ammo as well).

The PMC X-Tac 55gr 5.56mm is one of my favorite to shoot. Where are you finding it for $4.99? I thought they increased their prices a few months ago.

I know people who do. It's been a real struggle to not start casting for .223. It's a proven fact, it can be done, with no leading and no issues with the gas system, but I have cast for 300 BLK in an AR and although there was no leading in the bore or tube, there was some deposits on the rear tail of the bolt and I don't fancy cleaning that again. Also, there's no real performance there. The ONLY thing the 223 has going for it is velocity. Take that away and you've a magnum Hornet. Whoopedy do! You just don't get anything for the effort whereas say, .30 WCF I can get equal performance to any jacketed bullet with my cast loads.
