Awesome!

I spotted this moth on my back porch May 2011:

and this little guy in June (looks like it had recently shed it's skin)

I seen one of those snakes on my property for the first time last summer. Looked it up in my wildlife book and discovered the Rough Scale Green Snake is pretty common, and cool looking.

I see box turtles all the time around here and stop when it's safe when I see them crossing the road and give them airplane fare off the road in the direction they're headed. That's probably against TN. law unless they're Criminal Box Turtles.

This deer was staring at me through our bedroom window the other morning!

Peeping Tom! You should have shot it!!! My mom and dad used to have a park model trailer up in Cosby, around a couple of apple orchards. One night they were setting in the living room reading and when they heard a noise at the sliding glass door. A large black bear was actually setting on their porch watching them. Scared the crap out of them both! When they both jumped up, so did the bear and he ran off. Dad kept a shotgun loaded with slugs next to his side of the couch after that. He said seeing the bear actually setting on the porch and watching them was quite humorous, when he thinks about it now. Said he knows what animals in a zoo feel like!

We found a box turtle (I call them terrapins) in the yard the other day. Moved it around a couple of times to help it avoid the lawnmower and the dogs.

Back a couple years ago, my girlfriend and I found a baby squirrel that appeared to have fallen from a tree. We knew it was illegal to keep them but we did for about 2 months until he started acting sick. I let a vet tech friend of mine take him and they sent it to a wildlife rehabilitation place. This is "Hammy" on my arm. I got him out at my friend's wedding and the photographer went crazy snapping pics. The bridesmaids went crazy for him too ; ) I miss him. He would sleep in the front pocket of my Carhart T shirt. ehemejev.jpg
