New Obama Admin Claim: Marines Couldn't Have Stopped Consulate Assault

As a former Marine I'll say that in a situation such as this where you are surrounded with no way out, your choice is to either fight like the meanest SOB in the valley and stand a chance of coming out alive, or give up and suffer dishonor, torture, and then death. Personally, I would choose to fight like the meanest SOB in the valley. I may die, but I'm going to take out far more of them before I go. That is the legacy of the Marines. Would it have prevented the Ambassador's death? Perhaps not, but the score certainly wouldn't be 0 to 4 ration.

Could be. Crowds of rabble do tend to flee. My thoughts were that behind the rabble were some suicidal terrorists with rockets and guns, though, the type that want to die. If those were the ones leading the effort, I think they would have succeeded or died trying, not run away. A well armed platoon would have stopped that, agreed, I was talking typical guard setups with just a few guys somewhat lacking in hardware --- which may or may not have been the case, we did have some advance warning so ????

Sometimes I think we play to lose intentionally.

Marines have responsibility for guarding embassies, so my question is, where were they?

Not there for "Fear of offending the locals." Go figure with our current admins.

Pols would be cleared out, all their wives would come up pregnant and every bathroom in the White House and the Capitol building would be covered in penis art.

Know a few Marines do ya?

I can't go into a port-o-john within a mile of a Lance without being subjected to throbbing wall art or reading of "Wagner's" preference of anatomy.
