SBR Project

Recommended Posts

Ok, I'm considering an SBR project in 6.8. Can anybody who has gotten into these kinds of things before give me an idea of what exactly I'm doing in "building" and SBR AR and what kinda bankroll I'm lookin at on somethin like this. From what I've looked around at so far it I'm interested in a minimum 10.5 inch barrel for the project. I found a Wilson Combat one in 11.3 that I really like. I mean am I really just buying the pieces and putting them together, and paying the ATF to let me do it, or is there more to it then that?

That is pretty much it but make sure you have the approved form in hand before you have the parts needed to assemble the SBR. That is do not have the shorty upper sitting in the safe without a pistol lower or an approved form. Even if you do not have it attached to a rifle lower you can still get into some hot water by having it with only rifle lowers.

As far as engraving there are several that do it. But I woudl recommend having it engreaved before your paperwork comes back. The reason is before the paperwrok comes back it is just a title I firearm but once it comes back the lower is now a NFA firearm. And this means the engraver needs to have the additional licensing to handle NFA items.
