On Monday, I reserved two hotel rooms (4 people) in Ft Walton Beach for 4 nights in October. Both rooms have an ocean view with balconies.

I was hoping that some of you have spent some time there and that you'd share some of your favorite restaurants as well as some of your favorite things to do in the area. :hat:

I was just down there last month. McGuire's Irish Pub is a good place to eat. Just across the bridge in Destin. Seablaster boat ride, they have different times for swimming and dolphin watching (free beer). The Air Force Armament Musuem is down there I didn't get a chance to go check it out but looks interesting.

McGuires is the best place by far when we stay we eat there almost every night. The Back Porch is also good its also in Destin.

Other than that sitting on the beach is nice and its always less crowded in FtWalton than in Destin.

We usually stay on the other side of Destin (around the Santa Rosa beach area). There are a ton of great eateries in the area. McQuire's, The Back Porch, Red Bar (Grayton Beach), Bud and Alleys (Seaside), and the Donut Hole are all great places to strap on the feed bag.

I wish I had something to add but I was young and drunk the last time I was there, so I don't remember the names of all the places I was kicked out of. I do remember McGuire's though. It was pretty authentic food and great beer selection. I had a good time renting a pontoon while there and nailing channel cat during the day on the intercoastal. You just have to do the stupid Florida safety thing to rent a boat there.

I second this. The museum is a must see.

Staff's used to be great, but the last few times were hit or miss.

The Crab trap is good in Ft Walton.

Doughnut hole is great for b fast.

Can't beat the view from the back porch.
