CC Glock 26/27

I've been thinking about picking up a Glock 26 or 27 lately.

I once saw a 26 that had a clip mounted directly to the slide for CC. I've been searching around the internet to see if I could learn more about these clips, but can't seem to find any info on them. Has anyone here had any experience w/ these or know anything about them?

I wouldn't carry anything outside of a holster that wasn't DA/SA (heavy first trigger pull) or didn't have a manual safety. You're just begging for an accidental discharge if you cram a Glock into your pocket or clothing w/o something covering the trigger!

Yeah, I had already considered that. I've read about people having different triggers installed that made for a solid 8-10lb pull everytime. If I was to get one of these and carry it in this way, that's what I would do.

Those people are installing the "New York" trigger bar. It still won't be the same as having a heavy double-action trigger. Unless you enjoy arterial bleeding and trips to the ER, I would avoid this course of action.

Thanks for the advice guys. I may consider an XD sub-compact on these notes. I was under the impression what you are calling the "new york" trigger bar would be exactly like a heavy double action trigger. Good to know.

Springfield is reportedly going to incorporate their new XD thumb safety into newer generations of their SC (sub compact) lines. Whether this rumor ends up being true is anyone's guess. I would really want some sort of external safety on a striker-fired handgun if I were carrying it next to the twig and berries, if you know what I mean. The old meat and potatoes. The family jewels, as it were.

:D

Or get yourself a nice small J-Frame revolver as they are perfect for pocket carry!

DeSantis makes a Nemesis for the 26 which you just slide right in your pocket also.

Fair enough. But the Glock 26 and 27 are faaaaaaat fat fat fat handguns. You're going to look like you have crammed an 8-track cassette into your pants pocket when you walk around with that thing in there.

No thanks. :D

When I had my 27 I would carry it in my MTAC that i have for my Glock 23 and it worked perfectly.

It looks like in that picture, the Glock has a Safety Block behind the trigger.

I still haven't figured out why Glock hasn't pacified the nay-sayers on the external safety by bringing some of their "Euro" safety models here!??

For the GLOCks I would definitely go with a holster. I carry a G23 or G27 in either IWB or JIT slide, both by Don Hume. The slide fits both but the IWB are model specific.

The orange New York 2 spring will give about an 11-12 lb. trigger, and the olive New York 1 will make a Glock about 7.5-8 lbs. Neither will be as long as a DA revolver. I'm with everybody else--if you are going to carry a Glock, it needs to be in a holster.

I carry my 27 or 23 in the same mtac minotaur holster, the 27 is a little easier for me to conceal. I bought the clipdraw for my 27 but decided it was not safe enough to carry it that way.

I have a Clipdraw on my Kahr CW-40 and love it. For the Glock they have a special purpose model for use - http://www.clipdraw.com/

Yes, that's a Saf-T-Blok behind the trigger in that glock. I carry my G27 in my belly band or in a fanny pack with a Saf-T-Blok behind the trigger. It works great and I like it. I had to draw fast the other day when I was walking on my property.....a mean growling/barking dog approached me rather quickly and I had no problem drawing and 'popping' out the Saf-T-Blok before the dog got to me......I just fired in the ground right in front of the dog and he ran away. It takes less than half a second to pop the thing out of there.....the worst part was finding it in the leaves and brush afterwards! :tough:

I have carried Glocks for years. I would never suggest carrying one without a holster. As for safeties ,trigger blocks, no way. Unless you train to draw that weapon and release the safety or the trigger block every time you draw your asking for a disaster. If you have need for a gun you need it quick and you don't need anything installed that you could forget about in a time of extreme stress. Thats my 25 cents worth, well 2 cents with inflation added.

Any gun with a safety, lets take a 1911 for example, requires the same basic movement as popping the saf-t-blok out of a glock. Any gun with a built in safety would also require the user to have to think about and remember to release the safety......which would require practice with the weapon until releasing the safety becomes a natural process. It's the same thing when you use a saf-t-block in your glock. Sure, you definitely need to practice releasing the saf-t-blok when you draw your weapon until it becomes second nature.......just as you would practice releasing the safety on a 1911.

precisely why I prefer to carry a firearm without a safety. But to each there own.
